Silenced Fred
What?...we voted Casino. You knew all along you were getting a used Sheraton didn't you? Not really. I want a P90, but from here, the Epi forum, and playing them, the differences, like you said, are a little hard to get used to. One small factor, which may sound stupid, but I hate the epi headstock. The one on the Sheraton I actually like the looks of. I think it might make more sense for my style as of now. I am not outruling the Casino, but I might look for a Sheraton. Who knows what will come my way though?
EVOL!
I have a 90s, made in Korea Sheraton and it is a pretty sweet guitar for the price. Granted, when you add up the mods I have done over the 13 years I have owned it and you easily double the price I paid: pair of Gibson 57's, set of Sperzel Trim-Lok tuners, real bone nut, and a Bigsby. Bought it used so I don't care too much. While it isn't a ES35, it's the next best thing. Stay away from the new, made in China models. I played one a few months ago and was very disappointed. It felt rickety and did not have the meaty weight of my Korean model. So my advice? If you want a Sheraton look for a used made in Korea model. Make sure you play it because there were inconsistencies.
charlie brown
Hate the Epi Headstock???....WHY buy an Epi? Buy the ES-330 for your Hollowbody P-90 guitar. If you want "cheap," ahhhem..."less expensive," Agile! Sheraton's have a Classic "Epi" headstock...it's just wider, and with the corners knocked off, which is Vintage Epiphone, from way before Gibson owned them. Even as far back as the the archtop acoustics, of the 1930's! And, quite common, in the late 1940's and '50's. ;>) CB
