albertjohn
I have been contacted by Lee Bartram who is the UK and Ireland Business Development manager at Gibson. He has been following our previous discussion her about a possible get together and has suggested the following. Guitar Village in Farnham have very kindly offered to host an event for us. They have a good selection of Gibson Acoustics - approx 30 - together with a large selection of other Gibson instruments. http://www.guitarvillage...p?manuid=36&catid=4 (copy and paste to your address bar) They suggest: - use of their store after hours 6.30-8.30 on evening for our exclusive use. - Guitars will be displayed in specialist rooms which can be demo'd and played. - snacks and drinks will also be provided. - Gibson Product Specialist on hand to answer any questions you may have. - Light Entertainment in the form of a player showcasing the different models. - Numbers to be limited to 15. - They can't offer an open mic or similar but Lee says there are many bars and pubs nearby who may be able to accomodate such a thing. Further research is needed here so if anyone has any ideas then please reply. In order that I can develop this further with Lee, please would you let me know by leaving a post, whether this will be of interest to anyone. I'm happy to coordinate matters. Sounds like a great idea to get something going particularly as the lack of beer at their store can be easily solved! Please let me know. Lefty Guy
Would definitely be interested but working in London & living south of Winchester it would mean some logistical juggling for me to make it. Weekday or weekend? btw, Guitar Village may stock a lot of nice Gibsons, but not one lefty!
Johnt
Well AJ Never let it be said you didn't try! Perhaps with the limp response to yours and Lees and Guitar Villages offer we find the real reason that we can't find Gibsons in the UK? Which is the Gibson players apathy! Thanks for trying anyway and thanks to Lee and to Guitar Village

I would reckon about 30/40 from time to time. As you know people come and go The last gathering ( which I shamefully had to duck out of) amassed about 10 I think.
