Sheik Yerbouti
I know it's just a Dot Studio, but I really love it and love the way it feels. Plays alot nicer than the price would indicate. Also I've looked at alot of them in store and none had a fretboard as dark and rich in color as this one. Anyway here she is Eventually saving up for a Casino, just loved the way that guitar felt and played. So light, and great action. Thanks for looking! Ricochet
Welcome from another newbie! I never cared much for semi-acoustics(or acoustics for that matter). Too baroque, crowded with the knobs and f-holes. This one has a very understated look. A dot without the dots. I like it! Zappa-fan eh?
sexygibson
Welcome and congrats on the Dot. Its not " just a Dot Studio ", its yours. If you like the way it plays and feels it doesn't have to impress anyone else. See ya around the forum.

[/quote'] I used a magic marker to darken the fretboard on that one before I returned it to the store.
evol04gt
dot studios have ebony fretboards..... or at least thats what epi tells us/// could be rosewood with black paint..lol.
RotcanX
Dunno where you're getting that factoid from, the website and catalogs list the FB material as rosewood... not unusual to see a bit of black tint on them though. That being said, the Dot Studio is a real sleeper, plays great and sounds good too, all at a price that is unbelievably affordable. Good choice. pissedoffepiphoneowner
ap, thats def rosewood... see right at the heel where you can see the grain width, judged by that light swath of grain?? tells me its rosewood... that being said, you have light ebonys too... but that grain is too spaced out to be ebony... best guess form inter-photos - rosewood. Lerxst1281733995
the Dot Studio's definitely one of the best git-fiddles that can be had for 250 bones... Great for modding too!

Sheik Yerbouti
Thanks. The more I play it the more I like it. And I really appreciate all the tips and tricks around here, one quick question, with it's satin finish, what kind of wood cleaner would you recommend? Lerxst1281733995
Just use the same guitar polish/cleaner you would on any other guitar... Won't hurt it.. It still has a finish on it, it's just not as thick and shiny..
Ron G
Eventually saving up for a Casino I have one just like yours. It was a gift from my son - maybe not my first choice but it does play quite well. Since I love P90-loaded guitars (I had an ES330 and a SG Special in the 60s), I'm gonna put GFS Mean 90's on my Dot. They just arrived and hope to install them soon, with the help of my jam buddy. I'll let you know if this converts the Dot into a quasi-Casino.
