Check into some Gibson P94's. They sound very much like a real P90 (though I do think there is a difference)

P90's are the 60's sound in my opinion. You'd have to do some cutting to put them into your Paul, that's why I suggest P94's- they'll slide right in.

[/quote'] or seymour duncan p90 phat cat pups should do, they're less expensive and if you get a nickel silver cover they reduce hum somewhat. i believe they cancel hum in the middle pickup switch position too.

and charlie is right, you're going to need a hollow/semi hollow guitar eventually (the casino is hollow w/ p90's, very 60's-ish, but no center block...)

I'm going to eventually need a solidbody... (i think I'll get myself a firebird or a telecaster)

Gibson '57 Classics. Get the real ones (IF you're going to keep the guitar), they work and will save you time and money trying other stuff. Make sure to use .022uF caps with 500K pots. IME a .047 will ruin the sound of a HB and a P-90. All IMHO, of course.
