superbadj
Just had a 2000 Peerless-made Casino delivered. Looks GREAT, but I noticed an odd tilt to the neck pickup. Is this normal for these? Everything sounds fine, really. Just looks a little bit odd. Overall pic: See the tilt here: Also, the black on the headstock seems a little bit "milky". Kinda hard to see here, but compare the black to the TRC. Yes, there is some dust on there, but the paint itself seems weird:
superbadj
I guess it looks pretty similar to the neck pickup on this one: Hard to see (click to see full size), but looks like the neck pickup is angled just like on mine (I had bid on this blue one earlier, but didn't win it.......looking back, I think i'm happy.) FYI, the neck on my new Casino is AMAZING. Really, really deep mahogany color, very, very beautiful. Nice feeling, perfect size, etc. No complaints here. pohatu771
Mine's exactly the same - angled pickup and "milky" headstock. It's almost like it's partially transparent. Here's a photo I took for the last discussion we had about this: Mine's a 2001 Peerless... in real life, it's cherry, not cherry tomato.
superbadj
OK, good. I guess I've only played Chinese versions in stores, and the neck pickup on those isn't like that at all. Regardless, just wanted to make sure everything was kosher. I just did a super-detail cleaning of the thing (which I always do with used guitars), and it's BEAUTIFUL. Really in great shape. A little rust in a couple of screws that I removed easily with cleaning solution. Sweet. I'm very, very happy with her.

Ricochet
Does anyone have a source for these angled P90 dogear covers? I think they look great!
pohatu771
I'd like a source for metric Casino-shaped covers, in black... I can only find the flat-bottom Les Paul Junior-style.

pohatu771
There is a difference between dogears covers? The covers on my Casino are contoured to match the top of the guitar, as far as I can remember. I haven't looked closely in quite some time. superbadj
Norton: thanks. As I said before, seeing that Casino/330 pic you've posted here and there...that pushed me over the edge to find one. The fact that you compared them so favorably to one another is great. Yeah, I think it's a nice looking guitar. The color is also quite nice. I've seen many natural casinos that are a lot more washed out, both in the body and the neck. This one is nice and rich all over. I saw one where you could hardly notice the binding, it was that white. Not mine. Alfsboy: those are called Songbirds, if I remember correctly. Apparently, impossible to get (nearly) in the US, but available in the UK. I'm sure it's an excellent guitar!
