BBird
Help a brother out with a question. I was just visiting the Gibson website (to drool over ES-335s) and what do I see? Our Old friends Epiphone Broadway; Casino; Sheraton; etc. Shoot, the site even features some Epiphone Pauls. Interesting, indeed. http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars.aspx Take a deep breath before you scroll down to the MSRP! What's up? davidg3333
You need to not look at 'all', but either Epiphone or Gibson Custom. I only saw one elitist although I didn't look extensively. MSRP is just that and nothing else, just look at guitar ads from MusiciansFriend or GuitarCenter.
generation zero
Gibson owns epiphone. They decided to list all the available products on their main site. Their quoted MSRP has always been way high from what it actually is in store. No news here.
BBird
Ditto to both replies - I just found this development interesting. As for MSRP, I find it silly that Gibson even lists it (unless they want customers to feel like they've "stuck to the man" when the same instruments can be had for 50% of MSRP at boutique retailers and all over the internet. Turn. It. Up. BB
charlie brown
What will be interesting, is if Gibson combines the web-sites, as well...to cut costs? I think they'll keep seperate forums, but it will be intesting to see if they keep seperate web-sites? Who knows??! CB
generation zero
I'd bet a dollar to a brass nickel that they're already running from the same server and maintained by the same people anyway. Combining them would only save them about 20 bucks a year on the domain registration, and they'd still probably keep epi.com forwarded to the Gibson site anyway. I don't think that would cut costs in any noticable fashion.

Sure doesn't seem like much activity on that site, compared to the Gibson. But, you could be right? CB

Which is to say they do as little as possible to keep it afloat and turning a profit, LOL.
charlie brown
Ummm, well...Maybe I have excessive hopes/dreams for Epiphone/Gibson Qingdao, but if my Riviera P-93LE is any indication, things are looking good...or going in a decent direction, for making the best Epiphone possible, outside of the US (and/or Japan). Elitist's were/are awesome! So, as we've discussed before, in other threads, it would be nice to get to that level, even if it required a bit higher price point, for those particular models. But..time, and the market, will tell. CB

CB[/quote'] If you go to any other Gibson owned website (i.e. Kramer, Steinberger) you'll notice that they all have the same Gibson toolbar at the the top with a direct and noticable link to the Gibson forum. I wouldnt be surprised at all if they eventually included all of the products lines in the Gibson forum. But Musicyo is gone and the Kramer site just got a facelift so I have doubts about them combining the actual sites.

Not that I would EVER buy either one of my own choosing, but if I were forced to pick one at gunpoint... Nah, on second thought, I'd probably just take the bullet. IntelligentAl
Hehe, good point. Seriously, though, I believe Epi must be running out of ideas, so I wouldn't be surprised if we did start to see more of these hybrid guitars popping up on the website. If you're reading this, Epiphone, please don't make any more of these crazy guitars. Please?

I'd do away with the bullseye.
