Alannie
Hello everyone, I am trying to find out more information on this sheraton I bought second hand. Its a USA reproduction of Johns '64 sheraton, the one with the frequensator tailpiece. The serial number is JLH 0002, I know its unlikely but I was hoping that the serial number could be an indication that it was the second one off the production. Any help much appreciated!!!!!!!!! clarkuss
Is that all the serial number is? No numbers on any other stickers/back of the headstock. If not then it could well be the 2nd made. But pics would be helpful!!

Any help much appreciated!!!!!!!!![/quote'] If you contact Customer Service from the main Epiphone or Gibson site, they will be able to help you with the serial number. You would HAVE to think that yours is #2, though. My McCartney Texans use a similar numbering system, unique to their model, in which the final digits indicate the order they were made. I suspect Epiphone would do the same for the JLH. The JLH Sheratons were made in Japan in the Terada factory, where the Epiphone Elitist Sheratons were made. Unlike an Elitist, it was finished with nitro, like a vintage, Gibson-made Sheraton, instead of poly. The mini humbuckers and hardware were installed in the USA. In this way, they are similar to the limited edition Lennon USA Casinos, in that the "USA" designation indicates the final assembly took place here. The JLH USA Sheratons came in two versions: one with a stop tail, and one with a frequensator, like yours. I think they were sold in the early to mid 2000's. VERY nice guitars. charlie brown
My "Assembled in USA" Sheraton II. It has the JLH serial number, but not the JLH TRC or Pickguard. Awesome player and tone! Constrution and finish (Nitro) is second to none! The only thing I have done to it, is add the "Imperial" tuner buttons. (Didn't change the tuners, just the buttons.) I can only imagine the tone you get out of your Sheri with the Nitro finish. I remeber the first time I played a JL Rev Casino and I was amazed at the difference in tone even against an Elt. Casino. charlie brown
Thanks, All...it's a great guitar! MF was blowing them out, several years ago, for $999.00, and I couldn't pass such a great deal. CB

Alannie
Here's a picture of the beast. I got the guitar second hand and the pick guard was missing when I got it, I don't really play it as much as I should, I don't want to damage it. It sounds like a dream though. Here's the serial No.
