animalfarm
A comment GORD made in another thread brought this one to mind, slammin' some crunch and pinch harmonics down the more conservative members eardrums DOES kind of freak 'em out... I've played upon invitation with a local church band, my next-door neighbor tossed a song list to me with song keys. I think their jaws hit the floor when we played "If we are the Body" by Casting Crowns - I played the first verse in a churchy manner, but when the second verse and chorus came along I gently kicked in the Gibson 498T in the bridge and added some muted CRUNCH and perfectly matching lead tags to replace all the violin runs in the song, then full BOOM when second chorus came around. IT BELONGED! MY inner being told me so! Too hot for the older crowd, I guess?
AnthemBassMan
That's a cool song, Animal. I used to be in a Christian band and we did a bunch of Third Day cover along with our originals. Casting Crowns is a good band. If you've never heard the song, check out "Set Me Free." L8R, Matt
DJB08
Fav warm up tune is Back in Black-ACDC or Baracuda by Heart(Just the opening riff and harmonic thingy) Each song gets people amped. Unfortunately my music is not even close to the style of either band so people end up kinda...mad?..at me. Lots of " Oh come on!!!! Play Baracuda!!!" clarkuss
With the band it's always "Twenty Flight Rock" by Eddie Cochran. At the moment I can't pick up a guitar without playing You Can't Do That
charlie brown
With the band it's always "Twenty Flight Rock" by Eddie Cochran. At the moment I can't pick up a guitar without playing You Can't Do That Yeah, that one ("You Can't Do That") is in our set list, as well. "If I Needed Someone," "Come Together," "Hey Bulldog," etc... CB
