Well ,,the great Korina question surfaces again,,,general consenus seems t be that they are Some kind of Korina-ish mahogany. I dont know or pretend to know but it does give me the chance to show off the Unholy Trinity again. Whatever these are made of ,,,all i know is they KICK *** and look pretty darn good doin it.

Hey bro those are some seriously awsome looking axes. I once had a Hamer Korina explorer but traded it in because of it's weight and my back issues. Nice collection.

I played a korina V, and it made me hate the V i had.

So i sold it.

haha. Im still on the prowl for a korina V as we speak.

nowadays, i bet my money on them being mystery mahogany with veneers as you mentioned.

Big +1 on the Epiphone '58 Korina Flying V! It's an amazingly light and comfortable guitar to play ... really one of my favorites.

I changed out the black knobs and switch tip, and I'm still thinking about what to do with the pickup surrounds ... but other than that she is bone stock and will probably stay that way. One of these days I'm going to get the Korina Explorer ... I've given up (almost) on ever finding the SG ...

Hey Midi,,dont despair,,,the Sg's still pop up on flea-bay all the time, ive even seen another one come up from the same guy i got mine from,,his seller name is Nocom7. I would recommend him anyday he's located in PA and he included in the case with mine the original reciept from the first owner from a music store in Boise Idaho ,,,pretty cool huh. Mine is a 2003 but i believe they made them from 98 till 2005.
