Classic 57 PLUS vs. Whatever.. dumb question.

I bought a guitar on friday. The neck pickup was a 490R that was swapped out for a Classic 57 Plus.

How do I know? I have the original owners reciept :)

As for the pickups it self. There is a sticker on the back that say PATENT APPLIED FOR... a bit of an anachronism if you ask me.

So how do you tell the Classic from the Classic Plus? Lots of companies put model numbers on the back of their pickups.

Just curious.

Hello,

SamBokka and Ricochet...

SamBooka, Congratulations again on your ES165.

Rich,

Maybe you could tell me. Which Pup is on my Epi Zephyr Regent. I am going to change it out with a 57 Classic, but before I do. I'd like to know what the Stock pup is.

Thanks.

I can't say for certain, but I think that's Epiphones gardenvariety '57/Classic...

Specs are Alnico5-magnet with a DC-resistance of 7.8 - 8.13KO

Hope that helps you.
