Sheraton II pickguard

Is it just me or does the tortise-shell pickguard on the Vintage Sunburst Sheraton not match the other colors in the guitar? Looking at the older finishes, it matches flawlessly, but the more I look at mine, the more I think it doesn't. What other options for pickguards do I have for a 335 guitar? Any advice on where to start looking?

It just seems to not match. I took it off to see what it looks like without it, but I definitely want a pickguard. Anybody else noticed this or am I just crazy?

I've made 'em in black in that style and in 335 shape.

you might consider black knobs and black guard.. I'd go with five ply to match the multi ply binding that the sheris have so much of.

I have the natural sheri and use tortoise original and one I made and one in cream. and sometimes none.

not that I'm completly wishy washy, nuh uh.

I'm a bit wishy washy in that respect.

Now that I refinished my Casino I love having the pickguard off it just looks "vintage" to me. Sometimes I feel like putting it on for that classy vintage vibe. Now if only I had a pickguard with an Epiphone Epsilon on it that would be the cherry on top. Preferably a foil one.

I like the Sheraton a lot, they're solid guitars but I feel that the finishes are lousy, excluding the blondes.

I had a black/cream/black short 335 pick guard made for my Sherry. It is a great match, the cream matches the binding really nice too. It looks white in the pic, but in person it matches the binding perfectly. The tort just didn't do it for me either.

Twang, I'm not sure, but you actually make and sell pickguards right? If so PM me with the price of the pickguard you are suggesting. And it wouldn't be immoral in your opinion if I bought an E off of Ebay for the new pickguard right?

Anthony_JB: I really do like the Vintage Sunburst on the Sheri's. Either way this one plays like a champ. You know how a guitar just FEELS right sometimes? This one felt that way from the very beginning. The more I look at it the more the tortise-shell bugs me. I like it on the Blone and the rare white finish, but not on the black or *new* vintage sunburst.

JCWillow, where did you get the pickguard and the knobs? Yours is gorgeous. The bigsby looks good but I don't think I want one but none-the-less that overall scheme looks clean and unified.

This is probably the nicest Sherri II on the forum, and that pickguard looks just great. I have a gold Bigsby in the parts drawer that's begging to be installed on the new tobacco burst.

A project for the winter months...
