Nic LP
Hi. I will be in NY city soon and I would like to know a few adresses for guitar shops. I will go to Manny's. Do you guys have any other suggestions ? Nico Montreal
dokosan
Manny's was taken over by Sam Ash. Its on 48th St between 6th & 7th. Also on that block is Rudy's (and they have a dedicated amp room on 7th). Other ones would be Guitar Man, Chelsea Guitars, Ludlow Street Guitars. Have fun. jmjohnson
Are you going to be any other place in the NY area - is a trip an 1-1/2 hour north of NYC possible?

stevef
Nico. I'm pretty sure Manny's is closed. Sam Ash is there, on 48th St so's Guitar Center. <<<<-----Sorry Al 028's correct Guitar Center's on 14th St. If you have a car and can manage a trip over or under the Hudson River, to NJ, Lark Street Music is a nice store http://www.larkstreetmusic.com (vintage stuff). There's also a store in Wayne, NJ, called Robbies Music Center http://robbiesmusiccity.com/shop/ that usually has a nice assortment of guitars. Midnight Blues
Rudi's is right across the street from Sam Ash as well and there's Guitar Center on 14th St. between 5th and 6th Ave. Also, if you're driving from Montreal, there's a Guitar Center in Albany (Colonie) on Wolf Rd. too. Nic LP
Are you going to be any other place in the NY area - is a trip an 1-1/2 hour north of NYC possible? Well, I'll be there mainly for visiting, so I think Sam Ash and Guitar Center will do just fine. Merci from Montreal !
dynacoustics
48th Street was called Music Row for the longest time and has Rudy's, Sam Ash, Mannys, 48th Street guitars and the whole bang between 7th and 8th avenues. Please check out Matt Uminov in Greenwich Village also if you get a chance, 50 blocks south but worth the trip.
