On my ThinkPad it's Fn and F7 Either go to your computer manufacturer's website, or google with the make and model of your computer and terms like "external monitor" Good luck, Notes ♫
milod
Possibly Control panel displays check each set of menus... there likely will be one with an external display listed. I set one up along those lines a month or so ago. m

Artie Owl
If none of those work, then the simple answer would be to just dim the screen down to nothing, which is usually one of the Function keys. Or you could just flip it almost closed so that you wouldn't have to see it.
ShredAstaire
You don't need to use the Fn key. You should be able to go into display properties and change it.
TommyK
You got a black AC/DC tee shirt? Just drape it over the screen. :D

ShredAstaire
In a perfect world he would have a dock and not even have to use the laptop keyboard or even the soundcard. Yes you might be able to go into properties but its way easier just to hit two buttons IMO. Its definitely easier but HP is different from Lenovo, from Acer etc etc. If you don't know what to go, go into Display Properties and you are set. Everyone should know how to do this if they are operating a computer. :)
