It was simply another brilliant cost saving measure from our friends at Norlin. I put tophats on the one Gibson I had that came with them. Put them back on to sell it as "stock". Only aftermarket import versions are available, vintage originals are expensive. Like it was said allparts.com or guitarpartsresource.com I put them on my Explorer, I like them, very unique look.
