EPI Explorer with Bolt-On Neck and String-Thru???

Recommended Posts

Stumbled across this on Ebay last nite. Not what I'm used to

seeing. Bolt-on neck, string-thru not Hardtail, and the Design

is NOT as Angular as the Explorers I'm used to seeing.

Has EPI Logos engraved on Pup covers.

[confused][confused][confused]

Says 2001 Epi Explorer. Geez, kinda looks like a prototype that

snuck out the back door. Ok, Explorer Folks - wassup with this git?

I don't want to bid on it, just caught my attention. Pics at bottom of

Fleabay listing.

Best I can make out:...U01030200

Guitar dater: (which I know can be wrong)

Your guitar was made at the

Unsung Plant, Korea

March 2001

Production Number: 0200

What gets me is the "old" style logos on the pickups and headstock?

Edit: I did some more research and now believe it to be a 2001 Slasher.

By JOVE, Good Sir!!! You are absolutely correct - I agree!

Excellent detective work. I admit, I've NEVER even HEARD of an

Epi "SLASHER".... My Bad??? I'm jest an IG-NANT Country boy, "y'all".

Hmmmmmm.... Kinda looks like an Epi (ahem) GUMBY?

Last month I saw a Demon-V/FX for sale on Craigslist for $60. $60!!!!!

It was a "drop yer head on the table" moment as I didnt have three twenties to rub together that day. I could have bought it had it been on a weekend, but it was sold REALLY fast...I knew it would be.

Si, Senor - And a GOOD Website it IS!

[thumbup]

Thanks, man. The Strat/E-Series guide may be going away for awhile. My webhost has been unscrupulously charging me for my new hosting plan as well as my old hosting plan simutaneously. They also claim that I am 10gb over my bandwidth every month, when in actuallity I am 10gb UNDER my limit every month. So they are going bye bye. That means the Strat Guide will be homeless until I move because the ol' lady isnt gonna let me plunk down $150 on hosting until we buy a house.

I kow it doesnt sound like much, but $100 here, $100 there and the next thing you know, you're short on closing costs. I also just spent $300 on some new tires for one of the vehicles, so there is that, too.

RTH,

Hey...us DEtroiters got to stick together!

Willy

Indeed. [thumbup][biggrin]
