GUIBH
Hi guys, A friend of mine bought a LP R7 from ebay and when the guitar arrived he begin to suspect it could be chambered or weight-relieved (He says the guitar weights less than his gibson custom reissue 68, and less than his fender stratocaster). His LP Reissue 57 weights 8,2 pounds. Would you say that something is wrong?
turtle
If its a real gibson, prolly not. The chambered reissues have a c in the beginning of the serial # I think for cloud 9 hope this helps
Tim Plains
There are plenty of 8.2 lb historics out there.
saturn
I have a friend who owns a Custom Shop R7 also. I've never weighed it, but I play it a lot. It is a little lighter than my "weight relieved" Les Paul Studio.
turtle
I saw on a site 1957 chambered r7's so they are out there....can't remember the site but will post if I find it again
FennRx
8.2 lbs is about what i would expect a solid-body reissue to weigh.
