Supersonic
People who want no pickguard don't have to mess with ugly looking superfluous holes, and to get in the holes if you need them is no big deal. Actually it's a major PITA like I already said. If people don't like it, they can take it off like so many people do with their Casinos. Drilling holes should not be necessary when buying a brand new guitar IMO.
Cyclone83
Erm, has anyone here already seen the PG that comes with these guitars? Who says it looks like the dot one? I'd rather guess it's shaped the right way, just like the casino one ^^

Pin
Ah, another thread on the Epi 345. Excellent. On the matter of the pickguard I didn't know that the guitar came with it unfitted. I rather assumed it would be fitted regardless. No matter, perhaps it is best that people have the choice. I will certainly fit the pickguard to my ES345 (when I get it) as I play a lot (lead as well as rythmn) directly over the neck pickup (jazzer style) and tend to rest my pinky on the pickguard. I do so wish they had a sunburst option a la Sheraton. But no, so it'll have to be cherry.
mgrasso
ZZOUNDS has a special 8 payment deal on this guitar, so now I can afford it!! [thumbup] Available OCT 5th (I hope) I saw this also and am ready to make the order. But reading the other thread today about the problems with the Ultra III is making think about waiting until the production run has had a chance to iron out any problems that might arise. Granted the problems with the Ultra III are with the special effects that come with the guitar. It just gave me a pause. Mark
RUSHian
The Ultra III sounds like it has new LEDs and things that are cutting edge tech. The Es 345 with the Varitone has been around, so I hope there will be no issues. I made my sig smaller for the computer monitor impaired
