larryp58 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Randy Scruggs wearing one out! Who knew Travis Tritt could smoke a banjo? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLWUkaq9Paw&feature=related
jdd707 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Randy is the only person that would bring a Gibson to a banjo slaying! But with the AJ he can pull it off. He may be the only well known professional who plays an Advanced Jumbo as his main guitar. Any others you can think of?
Guth Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Okay, so this is a lesson clip but just the same I really dig the way Roy's AJ sounds. Nice 'n dry without too many overtones. http://youtu.be/UpOLt3VPDCQ
Jinder Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 VERY nice, thanks for the clip!! JDD, Steve Earle is an AJ player also. He's played just about everything over the years, but has been rocking an AJ for the last few of 'em. Newton Faulkner plays one too, apparently, but I've got no proof of this. Mark Knopfler owns a cool '30s AJ, and uses it a lot in the studio...obviously one wouldn't gig an original AJ, though!
jdd707 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 And, of course, there is Jinder ... soon to be well know certainly ... who NOW plays the AJ as his main .....
