Work in Progress
I don't know much about the seller other than he seems to own some sort of shop. I've got a $100 Line6 Spider and have been looking to upgrade to accommadate my collection. I'm looking for the classic Les Paul tone. I'd certainly be able to try out the amp before I buy it. My concern is that I'm somewhat of a guitar hoarder and once I buy something guitar-related I won't sell it (therefore I try not to buy firewood). I mostly play in my bedroom but who knows what the future holds. Here's the listing: http://houston.craigslist.org/msg/2766507041.html I *attempt* to play blues and classic rock. Work in Progress
He also has this up for sale: http://houston.craigslist.org/msg/2767955745.html When buying an amp, what do I need to know? What should be my concerns buying used?
Buxom
First of all, meet up in person. Test it. Turn every knob and look for any defects. If it doesn't give you a sound you like, walk away.
Work in Progress
Or I could get an Orange Tiny Terror 1 x 12 All Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier for $499 Orange Tiny Terror What do you amp pros think?
rct
Don't think of it as "get", think of it as "use". Go try them. Can't buy guitars and amps from...ok, I said it, the internet. You have to try as many as you can, find out what works for you. If everyone here used what I said to use I guarantee you I'd be the only one happy with my sound. The main things you need to know about buying an amp are that what works for others won't work for you, and that when buying used, BEWARE, be VERY ware. Good luck with it. rct
chrisnorthw
The Fender VM is going to be much more flexible than an Orange Tiny Terror. Good advise offered by others, always try the Amp to see if it has the sounds you're looking for, only your ears can tell.
Work in Progress
Thanks all. Pretty good advice. Now all I have to do is pull the trigger... Even though I JUST bought a new LP a couple weeks ago. Fiance is gonna roll her eyes \:D/
