Homz
His sound was dark and rich. The Jimi Hendrix fuzz peddle full and thick. The spot light focused on his screaming solo. His Les Paul Limited edition Manhattan Midnight Blue was hung so low. Girls in the front row wept as he hit the crescendo. But just then his fuzz peddle did blow. Not with a explosive bang or a cool freakish glow. Not with a clank, or a wobulating temlo. No not even a whimper of a sound did it make. Only the twang of an unamplified D sharp did escape. He looked to the crowd in a state of disbelief. But the crowd did turn and lifted their glasses for relief. He felt nothing but shame and their evil glare. But no escape would be found it was the night of the 9 volt nightmare.

Thundergod
I think the next "battle of..." will be of the writers... we can have ChanMan and Homz battling for the best guitar related short story.

RichCI
My recommendation: Buy cheap carbon batteries from your local dollar store; I buy Panasonic brand at two for a buck. They sound better (brighter) than alkalines and fuzz pedals draw so little power that a single carbon battery can lat up to 100 hours (that's 50 cents for 100 hours of fuzz).
