Its just a few weeks old, played a few times at practice only by the previous owner, and still has the plastic on the pickguard and truss rod cover, also on the pups, with the original paperwork and other gubbins (gigbag, etc.....) I have only had an hour or so on her, but she plays really well. The neck will take a bit of getting used to as it's a bit chunkier than my strat and tele, but i aint complaining. As with all my guitars she is gonna have a name, i'm thinking of feenicks for obvious reasons, the strat is called "gilmour", and the tele "terri". alfunkz Posted May 17, 2012 Author Share Posted May 17, 2012 OK i think i need more info on this beauty, i read on a review and the guy was saying thw wood is korina, and another guy is saying its mahogany, i believe they are both similar, and ones says his is the custom shop LE, the other says Studio LE. Mine has the decal on the back of the headstock saying custom shop limited editon woul;d that make mine Korina? or does it just depend on the year? i tried the website that gives you info from serial number and it says "product not found" from what i can work out its a 2011 japanese model s/n 1104201359. lengle1981 Posted April 21, 2013 Share Posted April 21, 2013 I love the firebird look and had a tokai one for a while but i just couldn't get used to playing it for some reason but it sounded great, think at the time I was having a love affair with my casino so she didn't get a look in. After a number of emails pestering epiphone for a non reverse version I'm hoping they might listen one day. I'd absolutely love an epiphone non reverse firebird, I know they brought a bass version out some time ago. Ill keep pestering them anyway and fingers crossed maybe one day they'll make one!
