pippy
Another thread had me looking for this article. It's been shown here before but not for a few years so I thought now is as good a time as any to post this link again; both for folk who might have missed it the first time around and also those who have joined in the interim. For starters they back-to-back 6 all-original '59 Les Pauls and then go on to test a large number of PAF and Pat No. p-ups in a modern Historic Re-issue. It's a long article but interesting nonetheless. Enjoy! http://www.tonequest...pr08_screen.pdf P.

surfpup
Thanks! A very good read indeed. I'd seen the pickup part of that article referenced many times in post by PAF winders and aficionados but never read it myself. Now I have the .pdf and can read it again whenever I need. manse
Thanks for posting that. It is a very comprehensive article. I am almost glad I can't afford anything along those lines - I would be worried that just around the corner was another *even better* burst... pippy
Glad you chaps found it informative. ...Now I have the .pdf and can read it again whenever I need. surfpup; I must confess after I first read it I printed it out and keep it (rather appropriately inside my copy of "The Beauty of the 'Burst") as a reference article. It's been useful! P.
T Bone
Yep, great stuff. Almost makes me want to pick up an R9 and a couple of Patent # p'ups. Sounds like you'd be about 95% there, for about 1.5% of the money!
