6stringTom Posted August 4, 2012 Share Posted August 4, 2012 I really like the intimate take on a great Hank song. I would not have thought to use the slide on this one, but he makes it work. The guitar is non-obtrusive and seems to reinforce the vocal very nicely. My one small bit of criticism is that he takes a breath between the syllables in "lonesome," which is slightly distracting from the power of the image.
