j45nick Posted January 4, 2013 Share Posted January 4, 2013 Probably mid/late '48, with that FON and the "new-style" bridge. FON is very close to my own old J-45. Shame about the finish, as the guitar itself doesn't look bad behind all the damage. It was pretty obviously stripped at one time, most likely the whole guitar. It's perfectly legitimate. edit: note that it is a second, with the 2 stamped on the headstock. Usually that means finish flaws. Duh........
