  1. Price question on RI 65 Firebird VII Sunburst

    22 August 2017 - 04:59 PM

Does anyone have a link to the reissues of these Guitars as to what they were priced at? The reissue vintage Sunburst 1965 Firebird VII with Maestro & gold trim.

I thought they listed At $2499.00. Anybody know for sure?

    Thanks,

    Lars
  2. NGD Gibson Memphis Blacktop ES Les Paul w/Bigsby

    01 August 2017 - 10:52 PM

After letting it adjust to room temp as I live in Palm Springs, Ca. & it's Hot! opened it up & it was beautiful! Black w/ B-7 Bigsby!!

I plugged it into my Stereo Amp Rig. Vox AC15 w/Alnico Blue & a Fender 65 DRRI. I switched back & forth from Vox to Fender & then played both in Stereo. I've had many Guitars since I foolishly sold my 1959 Gibson ES345 w/ Original PAF's several years ago & none of them had a sound that satisfied me. I think these MHS Pickups come very very close. I really like their Sound as they are reminiscent of my ES345.

After a visit to my Luthier for complete inspection & having it Set Up the way I like it, I played it for a while. Before putting it away I cleaned & Polished it.

I happened to turn the Headstock at an angle while polishing & when the light hit & I noticed what appear to be 2 poorly Filled & Painted Holes that were Drilled in the wrong place for the 1st & 2nd String Tuners! I have no idea what happened! How did it get out of the Gibson Factory???

I don't know if it could ever affect the Headstock but I do know at some point should I ever wish to sell it I'd have to disclose it & it will affect it's value. Im the one who's going to take the hit.

It plays great, sounds great & is otherwise great. Not sure what to do? These were Factory Special Run & they're sold out. They may have one more coming. Who knows when?

What would you do if you were in my Shoes?

    Thanks,

    Lars
  3. Humbucker ???

    29 July 2017 - 10:08 AM

I own a 2013 Gibson Memphis ES335 Dot reissue. I believe they all came with 57 Classics. Is that correct?

    I also have a 2002 LP Std Plus with 490R & 490T Pickups.

I just got a new ES Les Paul with MHS Pickups.

Does anyone know the difference between the 57 Classics, 490R, 490T & the MHS HB's? Please explain.

    Thanks,

    Lars

  5. 2014 ES Les Paul vs. 2016 ES Les Paul???

    15 July 2017 - 01:31 PM

I'm looking at 2 new Memphis Gibson Black Top ES Les Pauls. One is a 2014 & the other is a 2016.

They appear to be the same. Does anyone here lnow if the are or aren't? If they're different what are the differences??

    Thanks you,

    Lars

How do you like your Texan? I got mine on resting on a Guitar Stand sitting across from my Gibson J160E. I play them both equally. The Texan is great! Love it.

Hi just to let you know that it was your thread that encouraged me to get the Texan. Thanks
