  1. "Every day People" - Sly and the Family Stone
  2. Yeah they had the standard fare of the icons, and a lot of acoustic instruments. It was kind of a whirlwind history of guitars moving from the parlor to being front and center live onstage, lot's of videos playing on monitors in amp cases.
  3. I went and saw a touring exhibition from the national guitar museum today. It's called "America at the crossroads: the guitar and a changing nation". Here's some of what I saw;
  4. Over the Hills and Far Away - Led Zeppelin
  5. I have the Delta King 10, which I believe is 5 watts. It has treble, bass, reverb, volume and master volume with a gain switch and the boost switch. I love it, just an overall great sounding amp that occupies such a small amount of space. It's been forever since I've played out, but the places we played were bars and small venues, I imagine it would've been alright. I seem to remember our amps were always mic'd and run through a sound system.
  6. "Teen angst (what the world needs now)"-- Cracker
  7. Can I play with madness - Iron Maiden
  8. Thankfully I have good posture and mostly just suffer from immobility, it's difficult to get up off the floor for instance. Turning my head is difficult too, but if the krill oil helps regarding pain that will be wonderful for sleeping. 😃
  9. Me and you and a dog named Boo - Lobo
  10. Trying my first krill oil soft gel today. Currently on Enbrel for ankylosing spondylitis which effects the spine and neck, though have shoulder and knee pain as well. Fingers crossed the krill oil helps because all of my favorite foods are on that list of foods that make you more susceptible to inflammation.
  11. That's funny because that's kind of how I feel about laying out money for a 25.5 scale guitar. I've had my Nighthawk for years ( it was a prize in a Gibson photo contest in '95) and could never really put my finger on why it felt so different til I discovered it was 25.5 scale length. That made me more curious as to what always felt comfortable to me and why. Suddenly it became much more fun to play than my 24.75 scale guitars, maybe just because it was different. But that got me wondering about going full on super shredder, with their thin, compound radius necks.... just to have one in my collection. And that led me to starting this thread to see if others have something quite different than the typical 24.75 scale, 12" radius specs on most Gibsons.
  12. I already have one, it's kind of what's made me curious as I notice it plays differently with the longer scale length and increased string tension.
  13. I bought my LPC about 32 years ago. I had a Peavey Patriot as my first electric and just wanted something more substantial, and at the time was in a band. I bought the Les Paul because it felt familiar to me, it reminded me of the Sherwood acoustic guitar I learned on. Thick neck, ebony fretboard, block inlays, I was immediately comfortable with it. My guitar collection has grown since then but they're all very familiar feeling to me, same radius, same profile, same scale length (except the Nighthawk). Now I'm feeling like trying something new, 25.5 scale, compound radius, maybe a super strat style. Just curious if most here tend to play very similarly spec'd guitars or are there a few that have something quite different than their Gibson? For the record I've never liked the dowel rod necks that are on most Fenders, but something as capable as a Strat without the small radius.
  14. Saw this one on Tubi; https://youtu.be/bc1MSREXOtk
  15. Hi folks, thanks for accepting me in. I have two Gibson's, a '91 Les Paul custom, and a '94 Nighthawk custom. I am the original owner of both and have several other guitars as well, one of which is an Epiphone Emperor with some cool coil split features for the humbuckers. I'll see if I can upload pics of them or try one of those image services online. Anyway, I've been enjoying lurking on the forum the last couple of weeks and thought I'd join.
