There are so many various picks on the market, what’s everyone using? You guys “picky” with the pick which it comes to tone and feel?

ive got an ac4tv that i keep really clean and use pedals for drives. nice and quiet!
Yes. That is a nice amp. I use that as my practice amp. No frills, just basic and is best for pedals..Also quite loud for a small amp. Yours the standard white one? Or you get one of those red or blue ones?

DAAANNNGGGG congrats that's quite the quiver you've got now!
also if you havent got the amp rig already, i recently got the 1991 pedal from funny little boxes- it's meant to do the Pearl Jam tone but is a 2 gain drive tubescreamer into a marshall, so does an amazing job at the Definitely Maybe tone as well.
That’s a nice rig setup. Personally though, I’m more of an AC30 type. I got an AC30CC2X (Blues) and an AC30C2 (Greens)..I can get a Marshall type sound off the Greens combined with the JHS Clover (seasoned to taste). But it’s too loud for home..

What kind of a Lucille has a Slim Taper neck?

They changed the pick ups, too, along with the color and neck inlays.
Seven grand? That's one way to make it a collector's item, price them so high nobody will buy them.
Nice Transparent Ebony color..

Took delivery of the Riviera last week. A bit different compared to the original, but a really nice guitar nonetheless.
If you are an Oasis fan then I think that you will be really happy with the reissue.@indiekiduk - Have you secured a pre-order yet? More will be available soon although unfortunately you might need to wait a little bit.
UK stores I was speaking to said they will be taking a delivery of these each month until at least next spring.Glad UK got priority on those Riviera’s. Thanks for the compare between the original and reissue too..Forgot to ask, is the original still worth the price? Now that people have access to the reissues?

Sitting here waiting on my NGD. My 355 came really early…This bloody cheaper model is taking forever to arrive..Also, anyone have hookups in Canada for an EP Dove?? I’ve been waiting for that as well..

Hype have you got the full noel collection at this point?
No. I only liked 3 of his guitars, and only one of them is because of him. And that’s the Matsumoku Riviera. The other 2, the 355 and the Epiphone Frontier (which I don’t have yet) is for aesthetic and spec reasons…

Just to clear something up.
Noel has at least two 355s. Liam smashed #2. Gibson based this one on his #1.Yes most of us know this. The one Liam destroyed then was repaired and sold for crazy amount is a long guard..

Store I went to said their allocated inventory is almost all preordered and it's showing as discontinued on their suppliers system which means they won't be getting any more. I'm beginning to doubt this is a core range guitar and more likely a limited edition. That isn't to say they do a non signature model next like happened with the Supernova->Riviera II.
These preorders will take months to arrive and the signature 355 isn't even due til March.
Damn. Sounds like Noel type guitars are really in demand. They said this wouldn’t be a limited run like the 355. However, having said that, this is the more affordable guitar and there will be a lot of people who missed out on the NG-355 wanting it. So I agree, the Production run may sell out and Epiphone will have to decide on whether to continue to make more, or just let it be.
Funny how in ‘97 there wasn’t really a huge demand for Noel’s Epiphone Supernova. I guess it’s because it wasn’t a repro of anything Noel used, nor did Noel care about it. He didn’t even use it on stage or on any recordings. There was one pic where it appeared in his rig. But it could’ve been a prop piece..I still have a few more weeks before I receive my Riviera..
I’m sure of one person who has already received both the 355 & Riviera on the forum..

I traded my BB King for a Martin 000-28. I have no regrets about doing it, as my 000-28 is my fav of the 5 Martins, I currently own, but man if I held on to it, I could price gouge people too.
Lucille’s aren’t really a rarity. Simply because Gibson produced an abundance of them. They were practically a staple in the Production line. Unless, perhaps you had a unique one off..

I know but for an extra 3k someone with deep pockets is going to snap up a 355 that didn't get one of the 200.
Yeah the 355 was marketed towards people willing to pay for it no matter the cost, or as you said had deep pockets. Even a ‘59 Murphy Lab 355 is going for close to $10K as well and those aren’t being snatched up at all. It’s 2 fold, Noel’s name and the style of 355 that was reissued. This is the TDSV 355 which a lot of people (myself included) were after..

I saw the one in Italy for 20k. Wow that’s some really professional price gouging. There is a Noel J-150 for 9.7k. That’s about double the original price.
Just cos they ask, doesn’t mean they’ll get. But I do believe if they held onto them for another 5 years or so, they could get those prices. But who knows? By then Noel & Gibson could continue their partnership and it won’t command those prices? A Chris Cornell 335 goes for much higher (double) from what I remember. Perhaps triple.

at least they're giving us commoners a taste with the riviera lol
Did you order a Riviera? Sadly Canada won’t be getting shipments til mid-late Sept, at least that’s what they said regarding ETA. I guess I have a few weeks to wait..

Original had the headstock volute - glad it's in there 👍
I just saw you replied the same before me..

I was surprised by the volute, that was the last thing I expected to see. Very interested to see if is a one peice or scarf joint though.
Why? The original MIJ Riviera’s had a volute.

Anyone know if Gibson TV will air an interview with Noel? Mark Agnesi did fly into Abby Road Studios to meet Noel back in Jan 2022. Hopefully there was an interview that occurred.

unfortunately it sold out while I was browsing (edit: seems to be switching between in-stock to preorder)
So did you order one?

anyone found any listings for it yet?
Talk to your local guitar store chain. Here in the guitar is already listed in the system with an ETA of Sept 20, 2022. $1219 CAD is the MSRP, not sure about US..

thanks, I have a memphis 355 with long pickguard, and I always want a 355 short pickguard, would you selling the short one or can we make a exchange
The cherry red is the NG ES-355 that will be released on Tuesday this week. I’m not willing to part with it as the MSRP is at $10K USD plus taxes. Perhaps $25K USD then I might change my mind.

is the black one memphis made? what's the difference they sound and play?
The Black one is a 2011 Custom Shop VOS ES-355. So most likely built at the Memphis factory.
The NG 355 is relic’d (Murphy Lab), so it allows for faster playing easily and it sounds brighter acoustically. Also it has a Varitone switch so more tones to choose from. The neck is slim tapered.
My black 355 feels newer. It is a bit warmer in sound in comparison to the NG 355. No varitone. And the neck is a tad bit chunkier in comparison to the NG 355. Make no mistake it is a beautiful 355.
I love them both and they both do sound different in tone..

Reverb is basically a scalpers playground. I bought a brand new Korg SDD-3000 pedal back when they first came out (2011ish) for about $300 something & taxes. When they started selling out or there weren’t many available I checked Reverb…I was like $1000?????? And that was for the new pedal version, not the original ‘80s rackmount..
