Nothing so sweet as having a Gibson approved by Gibson haters. Left that forum years ago!

Man, I read all of those post's and only saw a few snarky ones. Which is pretty normal for any forum.

The responses were almost all pretty darned positive AND it went 3 pages pretty quick.

Good for him.  I'm tired of seeing copycats.  Every time I see someone claim they have a Les Paul, but it's not a Gibson, I laugh.  If it's not a Gibson (or Epiphone, because it's owned by Gibson) it's not a Les Paul, period...

I agree. And I'm sick of blurred out logo's on t.v.

And all of those commercials with side effects that "might include death".

That's too bad. You really should just play the living $h!t out of that guitar and worry less about scratching/denting/dinging it. It's meant to be played! I know if it was mine I'd keep it out on a stand and just play it. I keep my Ren-Era AJ, J45, D-18 and D-35 out on stands. Dings and dents happen. I didn't buy the guitars to admire or keep in the case, I bought them to play

    Bingo.

All of mine hang on the wall unless they are traveling. I even will put them in my truck WITHOUT being cased and take them to the cabin.  GASP ! It's only a few miles.

Mine have ZERO value anyhow because THEY'RE NOT FOR SALE !

What you need to do is go ahead and whack it with something. You know, a phone, broom handle, something tough. Maybe smack it on the door frame passing through a room. Knock off some of that re-sale value.

Then you can just keep it an enjoy it forever.

  4. I used to lift 12 oz. bottles many times a day. Well, cans also.

Day and night and extra work on weekends.

I'm actually in better shape now.

My exercise is maintaining 30 acres and a cabin and also a 100+ year old house in a small village.

  5. I've been mostly using the Masterbuilt 80/20's (12's) on my J-15 since buying it new. I've used Elixirs on the J-45 for many years.

I'm quite impressed with these strings and will probably try them on the J-45 in the near future. I wonder if they've changed, or it's simply the years? I have gotten thicker with my picks in the last few years and am using mostly Bluechip and Wegens.

  6. Murph, did you try a J35 when you bought the J15? Just wondering why one over the other. I haven't seen either.

I might have, I played several guitars during that period.

The J-15 had fantastic action, good volume and great tone. I was intrigued by the Walnut, I've always liked Walnut. I've owned a Walnut SG for decades.

  7. I thought the J-15 had been axed, at least I haven't found it on their new website. There's very little difference between a J-15 and a J-45 Studio so there wouldn't be a lot of point in making both.

    The J-15 is SELLING....

Also, it's quirky enough to be interesting, maple neck, skunk stripe, walnut fretboard. But with J-45 specs. Heck, I bought one and it's AWESOME!

Sustainable woods is the future of guitars whether we like it or not. These kids coming up have been brainwashed. Get over it.

They think Socialism is a good thing too. Even though it's never worked out like that. Ever.

There is a magic number, and if they sell THAT NUMBER, they will be built. If that goal isn't reached, poof....
