Used a bunch of Classics in the late 70's/early 80's.  Sad to say, Hartley ran it into the ground.  Should have closed up decade or so ago.

    Yep. Totally agree..

There's an episode of "Undercover Boss" that shows what an arsehole Hartley really is. He made his money and doesn't give a damn about his employees or his customers. While I agree, they made some durable stuff in the 70's / 80's that show and his attitude and the whole move to Chinese gear makes me sick.

Highly valuable information -  apart from the fact that you don't mention the type of GHS strings that match.

The GHS lights seen on their site - bronze as ph. ditto - are 12-54 where the attractive Masterbuilts both count 12-53.

Not skeptical, just disorientated. Can I ask - what is your source ?

I love the look and sound of the new Mesa Rosette 300 1:10, and I've had many years of primo service from Mesa electric amps in the past, but the 10" Rosette is very hard to find in the UK and would have to be ordered in with a ten day lead time.

The Bose line array units are brilliant, but I think to get the spec I'd want I'd end up spending more than I can afford...they're mighty expensive over here! For the L1 Model 2 with the B2 sub and T4 mixer I'd be north of £2500, which is a little out of my grasp budget wise. Terrific sound, though!

It's only money.  And what's a few days wait.

Let's all help Jinder spend his money.....

  4. Much research has been done by myself and others, and there are multiple threads on this subject at other sites.

The consensus is that GHS made the Masterbuilts so anybody who liked them and are not interested in coated strings can use this information as they see fit.

  5. I use the Bose units, I have an S1-Pro for small coffee shops and an L1-Compact for big/loud rooms. I use 2 mics with the S1-Pro and will simply line out to the L1-Compact when it's needed.

I also own a Carvin AG100D, I've had it for nearly 2 decades. It still works fine. 12", tweeter and 100 watts, cool rig.

Jinder, if I really needed an acoustic amp, I'd have to try the Boogie, I've gigged Mesa stuff and loved the power and quality.

  6. In the original Gibson Acoustic Forum that closed, (and every other forum I'm on) I'm Murphy Slaw.

Murphy Slaw came from a song I wrote in the 90's, and it appeared on the DOUBLE AUGHT debut cd recorded and released in 1998. The premise of the song is based on Murphy's Law. It's available on iTunes and Google play : ) ...

When the old forum closed and the predecessor of this forum opened, I logged in as Murph. I think it's because that's what people were calling me on that forum.
