Carvin is still using ebony. They have always used ebony almost exclusively.

A close friend passed this morning. A drummer.

Murph. You are the man. When are we going to see you let it rip again?
Sadly, I just posted one.
No ripping though.......
-
Jerry - I love the second version. You play so well. Love that guitar.
I agree.
I couldn't even tell you were slightly inebriated.
Back when I drank I rarely got SLIGHTLY inebriated.
<_<

For what it's worth, 80 percent of the time my "go to" to take out to a solo gig will be my least expensive instrument
I'm the opposite. I almost always take my best stuff. I figure that's why I bought it.

I think Epiphones are under-rated.
Bingo....
I didn't know this until I bought my daughters EJ200. Man, what a cannon, and great player. I'd like to have my own if she ever moves out and takes it.
And.
I played a Taylor I liked, a little cedar Grand Concert. Quick little booger, I'd like to own it, but obviously not enough to shell out the $....

That is very cool.
(This is deer Country.....)

A couple of decades ago, when I first saw Les Paul play in NYC, Leon Redbone was in the audience. Les spotted him and asked him to come up on stage. Leon served as vocalist for the entire evening. I got both to sign a CD cover after the show. My Lester and Chester CD is really a Lester and Leon CD.
Wow....

It goes to show you I think some folks can hear a more pronounced difference than others.
Yep.

Wow.
Mojo Jo Jo....

Guess I should have put this here.......

I use the case here to say THANK YOU to all of you good people in this forum.
Yea, some of us are pretty cool.....
-
That was SO COOL. Murph!!!
Thanks. You're like a legend in here......

Okay.....
Here's an oddball, written like that on purpose, it's a tribute to Scotty Stoneman.
Please opine.......

Thanks Dan. I used to play a lot when I was young. Just started back up recently, and I am learning how to record simple stuff. The key for me is finding songs that match my cowboy chord repertoire and keeping it simple!
Like riding a bike.
Good stuff.

I did this on Garage Band with a Snowball Mic. I played the drums, the bass, the acoustic and electric guitar, and sung the two vocal tracks, which need a little help finding pitch at times.
If you have any suggestions on how to make the vocals less forced, I'd love to hear.
I love that. That is like early Eagles, Grateful Dead, Michael Murphy, etc. The vocals are fine.

Here's my first installment......

As far as the Gibson version...Nice Guitar, no doubt! Although, I never could figure
out, why they didn't bind the neck, on that model. Was that at "Chet's" request??
I noticed Lester didn't have a bound neck on most of the "Les Paul Recordings" he played. The one I owned was bound. I'm going to say these guys liked binding LESS as they got older.

Guitar picks - this is probably to me the one thing that can change the tone of a guitar more than anything. Its also the cheapest 'modification'.
BINGO !
And after many decades of gigging I would have told you you were NUTS a year ago for saying this.
My experiments with picks started out costing me $40.00 for a single Bluechip.
Let the insanity begin.....

Murph has a The SG that also looks sweet. I haven't seen either around on the forums in a while though.
It's not crap. The same luthiers built em', in Kalamazoo, with the same tools.
Give me a break.
Only a moron would say all Norlins are CRAP.......

Yes' date=' it's there hiding in plain sight - I don't know how I missed it before. On the back, faint, visible through the f-hole.

You should post pictures here still so we can argue about it.
I mean discuss it.
