The Beatles are the reason that I play music. I heard "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and that was it for me! They sounded like they were having SO much fun! Anyway, my favorite album is probably "Revolver" with "Sgt. Pepper's" next and then the "White Album". "Revolution No. 9" used to scare the crap out of the 8 or 9 year old me! I also like their early stuff...sounds like a party! Great thread!

That's it in a nutshell,  they were energetic,  and having a good time! Their early work was all about youthful things and were upbeat.

I have a theory about why the 4 mop tops took ove the US rock and pop scene so fast.

They first played to a national audience on the Ed Sullivan Show in February 1964,  I was 14, and like all the others in my high school still dealing with the reality of JFKs assassination,  the nation was still literally  in a 90 day mourning and we kids desperately needed what The Beatles offered,  a reason  to be cheerful again. And the music was all new.  It didn't remind us of the past because it was brand new,  everything else on the radio was familiar.  These guys were happy, smiling the music was fast, witty and each of them were personable.

So my pick for the best Beatles album?  Anything released between 1963 and 1970, and remixes released later.

I wish! Actually I'm very proficient on saxophone and wind synthesizer, less so on flute, guitar, bass and drums, and the piano is the one I'm least proficient at.

    But I like the image!!!!

    Notes

I play wind synthesizer after I eat a lot of beans, but I can't find "c" above middle "c" with any consistency...

  3. After reading each post I must say,  Wow!

That's all I got, seeing the suffering and challenges of other is humbling for my little *****andmoans!

I've been dealing with vertigo and hearing issues , I remember when as a young lady I'd pay money to feel lightheaded,  it isn't nearly as much fun when it won't stop!

I am grateful for my wife, I would be a useless lump of decaying flesh without her, it still amazes me that I have such a woman in my life for 35 years,  we have a home that's paid for, few bills, she had surgery this past July and is finally getting back to being my Judy again.  Thank you God!

  4. Thanks for the Birthday wishes guy's,  that's what I like about this place.

My wife was sick with a head cold, I had reheated beans and ground beef on a tortilla and watched the newly released movie The Irishman on Netflix,  over 3 hours long but a great flick.  Some earlier FB, so all in all its been a good day,  another year without spending money on a bailsman!   Whoopie!

When your lead guitar player gets sucker punched in the middle of a song,  and smashed the guys head with his LP Goldtop you are living the dream!
