  1. Outstanding Sal ! Remember playing that in Junior High driving girls mad. Great song, nice instrumentation.
  2. Ok, no need for apologies, especially with something this "blow me away" good. Voice, playing, its all very very good. [thumbup]
  3. That was a nice sound. Is that the Ditson? Wow, talk about projection ! I like this setup. Have you tried anything similar in a live setting?
  4. Cool. Let us know how the install goes, with their new directions its pretty straightforward, except for drilling out the end-pin. Very interested in how you like this in Rosewood. I love this pickup.
  5. I have the Trance Audio Amulet stereo system in a Jackson Browne 12 fretter, with Walnut back and sides. The same pickup Jackson Browne actually uses for performances. It is the Cadillac of pickups in my opinion. Hear it in my guitar here: I also installed a Trance Amulet Mono system in a Southern Jumbo I had : I currently have an LR Baggs Lyric in my J-45 TV : You will note that I am admittedly a hack player now-a-days, but some of these vids may give you some ideas. I am not familiar with a Rosewood J-45. So, have no firm suggestion for you. For my money, the best sound for a performing artist might well be the Trance stereo. For great sound, ease of install, and accommodating ability to plug in at a moments notice, I like the Trance Mono system. The Lyric is acceptable, but gives a bit of a boxy sound, and is very sensitive to percussive sounds, which I have just by the sloppy nature of how I play. For my money, the Trance Mono us hard to beat. http://www.tranceaudio.com/amuletm.html
  6. Sal - Your Wildfire song Is good - I liked it with the pick, and this way with the fingers too. Fun to play and sing your own songs! You must have near an entire set by now. That's a very good thing. [thumbup]
  7. Luke, that is one sweet looking classic .
  8. From: That guitar is incredibly beautiful - thanks for posting the pictures. Wow !
  9. Can't help with the pickup, just not a Fishman guy, prefer the Trance Audio over everything I've heard or used. On the other topic - the J-200 Standard that I had was a bit on the heavy side, much more than my J-45s.
  10. Very wonderful music... You truly have a gift.
  11. Hi Tom! That J-15 with Walnut really gets some nice reviews - of the handful I have played in shops, they were all good.
  12. Very smooth sound. Did you find a way to bring that home with you? Sounds great in your talented hands.
  13. Joe, Scriv, Lord, and D - WELCOME TO THE GIBSON ACOUSTIC SECTION ! Hope you find it as educational and enjoyable as I do . Something you may want to know about is how to post photos - folks here love to see others guitars - hey Lord- especially that vintage J-35 ! Heres how to post pics: http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/11005-sticky-how-to-post-photos/ Again - welcome aboard.
  14. Multi-track ! Nice easy swing on the guitar - interesting sad song.
  15. Nice sound with that 12 string-sorry about your bass player. Never a good thing.
  16. I am wildly impressed with some of the work done here on a few of these recent Pickguard threads. I am hesitant to mess with anything other than changing strings on a Gibson - you folks have a lot ore confidence than I - I really do find this to be amazing, and with excellent results!
  17. Krasi - Another wonderful song - nice sounding Martin. I wish I knew your language, you sing with such passion. [thumbup]
  18. Dave - Incredibly good! What year is your 45? I am very impressed with how clem your playing style is. Wonderful wonderful stuff. [thumbup]
  19. I have had guitars with FWI saddles, they were all "groovy" too. Little drives me more nuts than a groove in the saddle in the wrong spot, messing up the string spacing. I'm a hack player, and don't need extra challenges thrown at me. Foer me, bone nut, bone saddle are important to tone, and the pins are all for looks.
  20. Give me a shout out if you get to the valley, we'll smudge up a couple of guitars!
  21. Wow L5 ! You named half my favorite places ! Hunter is gone, but his table at Woody Creek Tavern is still there ! Installing a pickup into your Gibson will be a tough emotional decision - Next chance I get, a Trance Audio Mono is going in that Legend. I too live a bit "down-valley" from Aspen. Good lord you need a boat-load of money to live right in town! You probably at least were acquainted with Kurt, the Watchmaker? It is he that I wrote "50 Winters" for. See ya around the acoustic boards !
  22. Sal - Loved this. That SJ sound is top=notch, love the finger soft picking on this song. TVZ - I goota get some of his stuff, my playlist is stale.
  23. Hello Harry ! Cherry-burst J-45 ala Donovan.. Played one in New York City last spring - was née !
  24. Jake / David - welcome to the Gibson boards. I am very impressed that you both own Hummingbirds ! I do not have a bird, though I've wanted one for years, it sure is fun to see the pics and hear about them.
  25. Bravo ! Gillian was the only one tapping her foot
