  1. To see a Solo Acoustic Guy in a Cowboy Hat doing this Tune! Are you kidding? People will dig it! Ultimate Novelty!
  2. If that’s true my 1975 Martin D-35 & my 2001 Gibson J-160E deserve the Medal of Honor! They have truly been Player Guitars. They’ve worked hard for years Coast to Coast..
  3. I never liked this song by Queen.. But, IMO I think this may be the best version yet! You should play this live at your next Gig! People will dig it! It is so unexpected it’s cool!
  4. Some people say the double Pick guard reduces the vibration & dampens the overall Sound… Personally I love to see the Wood… One Pickguard is enough.. Although, lefties would like it!
  5. That’s pretty cool! I would love to see more Videos of Guitar How To’s! Very worth while! Thanks……
  6. Yeah, true, but everybody’s fees have gone up! That’s the market today! Like it or not.. Sellers have the choice to charge what they want.. They have the choice to sell elsewhere too.. Reverb is a business.. They’re in it for the money… It’s just business.. Sad, but it’s reality today…
  7. So in essence more than twice the MPG as me.. Which, for you, should be a reduction in overall Petrol expenditure…
  8. Yeah, I’m sure of the Price of Gas where I live.. LOL! I live in Palm Springs, Ca…. I have 3 Vehicles.. My Truck, an ‘05 Corvette & my wife’s ‘22 Lexus ES350.. As for my 1975 Martin D-35 I bought for $500.00 new in 1976… I worked in Jody Reynolds Music Store in Palm Springs.. I got it for about Cost.. The Price gouge isn’t Reverb, it’s the Owners of the Instruments who set the Price… Regardless of what people think, fair market value is determined by what someone is willing to pay… If nobody paid the high Prices, nothing would sell. When things don’t sell they’re incentivized, discounted or both… Then Prices go down… Or the Products are discontinued and or removed from the Market…
  9. I drive a Full Size Chevy Crew Cab Silverado Pickup… Which gets about 15 MPG…. $5.00 - $6.00 a Gallon.. That gets expensive.. What do you drive?
  10. The E string on that particular YouTube Guitar may be in need of a Pole Piece adjustment.. Simple fix more than likely… In this market 70% off it’s new price is probably realistic if it’s in mint condition with all the original Hard Case with all the Case Candy..
  11. I have an early ‘90’s Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus in Heritage Cherry Sunburst with 490R & 498T Humbuckers.. It is a Work of Art & the Pickups sound fantastic! Weighs in at 9 1/2 lbs.. Not light but it is very comfortable to play & I love the Neck… Good luck with your Search! You won’t regret it! Look forward to hearing about your NGD!
  12. Recently, I’ve been paying $5.00 - $6.00 for Gas! I remember paying 19 Cents a Gallon! Markets change.. My first Gibson Les Paul was purchased Used for about $70.00 in 1969.. It was a lot of money to me back then.. It’s all relative to current monetary values… My Martin D-35 cost about $500.00 brand new in 1976… A fortune to me at that time! I recently bought a new USA Epiphone Casino for $3000.00! A fortune to me now! Times change.. The value of the Dollar is always in a State of flux. Unfortunately, like everything else, the cost of Guitars changes too….
  13. Gibson couldn’t come up with enough designations.. Even though they’ve made LP’s, Hummingbirds, J45’s or whatever etc. Guitars for years they make changes to each of the models like every other minute! If I recall Gibsons Warranty says something like, they reserve the right to make changes whenever….
  14. Gibson is notorious for making numerous versions of Guitar models with the same name… Like Pepper says above.. How many versions of LP’s are there? ES335’s? SG’s? Etc….. This is from Gibson Legacy site.. But who knows if it’s the same one you bought? Good luck! http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/2018/Songwriter-Studio.aspx
  15. Cars, Guitars & Cigars is popular in some areas.. Probably more so in Country Clubs… I’ve been to a few.. Smaller Groups, amazing Cars & Guitars.. Good Liquor & Cigars..
  16. I have a few Fenders & they’re great Guitars.. They do things all my Gibsons & Epiphone’s don’t. And Vice versa.. Best of both Worlds.. Among them are an American Vintage 65 Jazmaster & an American Vintage 65 Jaguar… They are fantastic Guitars & Works of Art.. Then there’s my Fender USA Strat & Tele’s… All are great Guitars! I like them as much as my Gibson’s & Epiphone’s! But, I hear you.. Fender makes Gibson looking Guitars too…. Go figure!
  17. Looks like a Fender Offset… I’m sorry but that is one Fugly Headstock..
  18. It’s not easy to play the Guitars in Stores that I want to buy.. I don’t live in a Big City.. That makes it even harder.. I have purchased from many Online Retailers & Reverb. But, usually will order new Guitars from Sweetwater. They have one of the biggest inventories, provide several photographs of the actual Guitars, Serial numbers, weight & Specs.. Which I find helpful.. They do a pretty involved inspection & a decent Setup at no charge.. (Although they can provide all kinds of upgrades thru their Mod Shop) Usually, the Guitars are keepers.. A couple times I had to do exchanges.. It seems to work pretty well for me.. Sorry to hear about your Guitar experience & hope you find the right one!
  19. I’m sure a certain amount of what we like is subjective.. But, do you think it may have anything to do with certain strings working & sounding better on certain Guitars than others? And if you aren’t playing strictly Acoustic but also play Electric plugged into an Amp? I find the Martin Retro Monels on my J-160E to be a good balance to achieve good Sound unplugged or plugged in… And I’ve tried just about every String there is from Cheap to ridiculously expensive. USA & Foreign…. I don’t think they sound as good on my Martins oddly enough. Which I am liking Pyramids on…
  20. I’ve tried lots of Strings for my Gibson Bozeman Masterbilt J-160E Solid Top.. Most sound good Acoustic but fail & turn to mud when plugged in when I play with a Band. The best I’ve found are Martin Retro Monel.. Sound great plugged in or unplugged… Whatever works!
  21. Same here, he was a good Drummer.. Just not the right Drummer for us.. Our current Drummer, of the past 6-7 years, understands good dynamics & is an excellent Drummer.. He knows the BPM of every Song we play.. He does use earbuds with a Click Track.. We try to play many Cover Songs exactly like the Record.. Sometimes use the accurate Guitars that were used on The Beatles recordings..
  22. Yeah, the other guys are probably out Gigging, making a few $$…..
