  1. Building high quality Acoustic Guitars is nothing like building a Telecaster or a Les Paul… Numerous Tele’s & LP’s can built in the time it takes to build a really high quality Acoustic Guitar.. Roughly 12,500 Really high quality Guitars a year average for aprox. 200 years.. That seems like quite a feet to me.. I’m not aware of anyone else on the Planet who has done that? Seems Martin stands alone in this Achievement… Nothing against Gibson, Guild or other fine Builders of Acoustic Guitars. Martin is & has always been the Bar by which all High Quality Guitar makers are measured….
  2. I read it slowly enough, I was referring to….. The 2.5 million Guitars built being a Paltry amount comment.. I should’ve been more clear.. Apologies!
  3. Yeah, it’s probably ok. Especially since they’re “Double” Albums….. Ba Ba Ba…..Boom!
  4. Fortyyearspickin. That may be an indication who builds more right there.. I thought the backstory about the 2.5 millionth Guitar was quite interesting.. Particularly the rare Figured Rosewood part.. I’ve never seen Figured Rosewood on a Guitar before.. I’m always amazed at how one can take raw materials & turn them into Works of Art.. Especially when paying tribute to Someone who did something truly amazing… By the way, do you change your name every year? Like, Fortyoneyearspickin? 😆
  5. I’m curious if there is an actual source for how many Gibson Acoustics have been built since their inception.. It’s one thing to say they built more Acoustic Guitars than Martin but it’s another provide the Source to back it up.. Maybe they did? I’m not knocking Gibson. I have more than a couple & love them… I love my Martins too. No way do I think one is superior to the other.. Just different.. Both are best of the best Companies to work in my experience as well… I’m just curious….
  6. Not since 1964 but the past 190 years… Total.. Where are you getting your information pertaining to the total number of Gibson “Acoustic” Guitar Sales since their beginning? I can’t find it?
  7. 2.5 million Guitars… I think they’ve figured it out.. This is a unique piece indeed.. One I doubt anyone here can afford to add to their Investment Collection…. May not be to everyone’s taste but Lord knows Gibson has their fair share of strange Guitars..
  8. Lovely!!! What are the Specs? Is it new? If so, where did you get it? Congrats!
  9. Profound? I don’t think so. It’s kinda like saying in the 70’s if you Rapped like Snoop or whoever the hot Rapper is today nobody would even pay attention.. Of course they wouldn’t.. Neither are relevant for the time.. Going off on those tangents is proof that they, like most of us, have too much time on our hands! 😂
  10. Yeah, I seem to like the early Periods of most Artists & Bands.. Particularly Elvis 1956.. I thought his movies up to & including “Loving You” were his best.. “The Rolling Stones” all of the Brian Jones Period. “The Beatles” when they were all together as a Group.. Not so much their Solo Careers..
  11. U.S Army - Vietnam 1967-1968 My Thanks to all who Serve & have Served.. My thoughts & Prayers to all our Hero’s.. God Bless..
  12. Right..... According to SIRI roughly $6 Trillion Dollars a year are committed by Internet Criminals....
  13. No… There aren’t any Crooks on the Internet.. Yeah, right…
  14. My wife & I were away many years ago at her Sisters helping out for a few days while her Sister was in the hospital having a Baby.. That weekend someone broke in my house & stole all my Guitars, Amps, P.A., Mics, Pedals, Recording Equipment and my high quality Audio System… No joke to me….. Right! There are no Crooks on the Internet…..
  15. Right. Let’s tell everybody what we do with them when we’re away….
  16. We live in Palm Springs, Ca.. My Mom was a huge Elvis Fan.. She owned 2 little Restaurants that catered to the Working Class & served Breakfast & Lunch.. We Opened at 6:00 a.m. Closed at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon.. She was known for a few Recipes that were famous around here.. One of them was her Biscuits & Gravy… People would come from everywhere for them… Elvis got word & twice came to her Restaurant for her Biscuits & Gravy.. She had her picture taken with him & she treasured that experience all her days.. My Sis has all her Pics. Someday we’re going to go thru them & make Photo Books for each of us old Kids…
  17. That is the main reason I’ve held back selling Guitars that I seldom or don’t play… The cost & hassle… Then Reverbs fee… I was planning on selling some at the Guitar Show in Anaheim in June & may still do that…
  18. I think you’re wasting your time.. If it takes this long to even hear from him how long do you think it will take for him to sell them? Check out Sales on EBay & Reverb & that will give you an idea of what they’re worth.. Try CL & meet at a Coffee Shop…
  19. Casino’s being Hollow Body can feedback.. But, for me, that’s not a bad thing.. You just learn how to control it.. It’s a great Effect… The Beatles, John, Paul & George, played them extensively with no problems… Paul still does & plays it on his 2022 Got Back Tour…. IMO, it is the most versatile Guitar you can own..
  20. I own 4 Epiphone Casino’s.. IMO they are the most versatile Electric Guitar you can own…. I have a Vintage Sunburst Peerless with Bigsby, Natural finish JL Revolution, a Ltd Edition Vintage Sunburst 50th Anniv. 1961 Re-Issue with Tremotone & a new Royal Tan USA Casino.. While the Entry level Casino’s appear to be built good & very reasonably priced I’m not a fan of the Asian P90 Pickups.. That said, an upgrade to Fralin or Lollar P90’s isn’t too expensive & will make these Guitars sound Great! A Bigsby is a great addition too….
  21. Sorry to hear. I was a big Fan & enjoyed his Work… Thank you Ray… God Speed…
  22. So was RCA Records after he signed with them.. They didn't think they were good enough... Scotty Moore, Bill Black & DJ Fontana.... RCA wanted to use the Top Session Players....
  23. James Burton goes back to The Ozzie & Harriet days.. He was Ricky Nelson’s Lead Guitarist.. He played on many of his Hit Records in the early days.. Amazing Guitarist! He joined Elvis’ sometime around the Elvis in Hawaii period.. He Rocked that Band too! If I hadn’t seen Elvis on Ed Sullivan as a really young age I’d never have picked up a Guitar.. Up until then all I cared about was Baseball & wanted to be the next Mickey Mantle… To quote John Lennon, “Before Elvis, there was nothing.” His earliest Music was his best IMO… Particularly around 1956… The year he changed the World… I’m definitely going to see this movie being a big Elvis fan.. No one will ever be Elvis but I like they’re re-introducing him, His music & his legend to new Generations that missed some, most or all of it. That & I’m intrigued with Tom Hanks playing the Colonel..
  24. I’m using Distilled water so far.. I’m ordering the Bacteriostatic Treatment today.. What do you recommend? Also, how often do you need to change filters? Thanks
