  1. A good Gibson Std J-45 sounds as good as that ‘42.. I’ve played many that do... I’m sure many guys here have Std J-45’s that do.. IMO, there are many better Guitar choices if you want to step up to $4300.00 US or $6300 CA..
  2. A Std J-45 is an excellent Guitar & sounds great! I’d be hard pressed to pay $4299.00 US for that 1942 issue.. I’d have to get a Hummingbird with L.R. Baggs VTC for $3999.00…. Or, Don’t hate me but for that kind of money I’d have to buy a Guild D-55E or Guild D-512E.. Which are amazing Great Guitars! Or an Electric Gretsch G-6136T-59GE Vintage Select for $3999.00….. Classic White Falcon! It doesn't get any better!!! You've reached the Pinnacle!
  3. I’m not an SG expert but seems like most of the ones I’ve seen with Coil Splitting are Epiphones? I could be wrong?
  4. I’ve sent 3 Gibsons to Gibson for Warranty Repairs over the years.. They did take time but always did an excellent job.. 1. Gibson Bozeman Masterbilt J-160E, It’s been so long I forgot why I sent it in? But, it came back better than New & Perfect. I play it more than all my Acoustics. Including my Martins.. 2. Epiphone 50th Anniv Ltd Edition 1961 Casino with Tremotone. The Tremotone made a rattling noise that couldn’t be repaired. They sent me an exact replacement which was perfect.. 3. Gibson Memphis Blacktop ES Les Paul with Bigsby. The Headstock had a 7th hole drilled into it & a repair had been done. But it was a visible repair.. I couldn’t do an exchange with Sweetwater as they were Ltd. Editions & were Sold Out. Somehow Gibson had 1 more & sent it to me. It was also perfect..
  5. There was very little story, lots of Heads lobbed off, lots of Orgies & Arse Humpin.. Not much substance.. It could’ve been way better…
  6. I hope so.. I’ve got about 8-10 Guitars I should sell & a few Amps.. We’ll see..
  7. It is indeed.. In addition to the LP I mentioned in the previous Post I have a 2013 Gibson ES-335 with ‘57 Pickups.. They have a great Sound as well. A bit more pronounced but in a really good way.. I also have a 2014-2015 Gibson Memphis Blacktop ES Les Paul with Bigsby that has MHS Pickups.. Really great sounding Pickups as well.. Though different.. Somewhere in between the other 2 Guitars.. Pretty close to the PAF Humbuckers in my old 1959 ES345 which were the best sounding Pickups I’ve ever heard.
  8. I’ve known him for several years, he’s a good friend. He does all my work & I refer him everyone I know.. Yes, I will pay him a fee… I’d have to pay Reverb, EBay etc.. This will be a whole lot easier.. I’ll show by Appointment.. Customer can try out & inspect.. They can Buy & pay Cash, or don’t.. No Websites, Shipping, Boxing & all the other hassle… Not to mention those guys who want to return & get full refunds.. Warranted or not… I’d rather avoid that altogether with face to face dealings….
  9. I want to bypass the whole hassle!!! Wait til you read what's happening with Fed Ex!! I'm trying to set up an arrangement with the Owner & Friend of a fairly large Guitar & Amp Repair Shop in my Area where I can advertise on Craigslist & the interested Party can meet me by appointment at the Shop.. If they like it hand me Cash & Adios!! If not no big Deal...
  10. The Beach Boys were definitely Car Guys! Dennis Wilson owned Ferrari’s & I’ve read he owned the Chevy 409 that you hear revving in “The Beach Boys” song “409”.. Also the famous “Fun Fun Fun” 55 T Bird https://www.starcarstn.com/cars/ford-thunderbird/
  11. To see a Solo Acoustic Guy in a Cowboy Hat doing this Tune! Are you kidding? People will dig it! Ultimate Novelty!
  12. If that’s true my 1975 Martin D-35 & my 2001 Gibson J-160E deserve the Medal of Honor! They have truly been Player Guitars. They’ve worked hard for years Coast to Coast..
  13. I never liked this song by Queen.. But, IMO I think this may be the best version yet! You should play this live at your next Gig! People will dig it! It is so unexpected it’s cool!
  14. Some people say the double Pick guard reduces the vibration & dampens the overall Sound… Personally I love to see the Wood… One Pickguard is enough.. Although, lefties would like it!
  15. That’s pretty cool! I would love to see more Videos of Guitar How To’s! Very worth while! Thanks……
  16. Yeah, true, but everybody’s fees have gone up! That’s the market today! Like it or not.. Sellers have the choice to charge what they want.. They have the choice to sell elsewhere too.. Reverb is a business.. They’re in it for the money… It’s just business.. Sad, but it’s reality today…
  17. So in essence more than twice the MPG as me.. Which, for you, should be a reduction in overall Petrol expenditure…
  18. Yeah, I’m sure of the Price of Gas where I live.. LOL! I live in Palm Springs, Ca…. I have 3 Vehicles.. My Truck, an ‘05 Corvette & my wife’s ‘22 Lexus ES350.. As for my 1975 Martin D-35 I bought for $500.00 new in 1976… I worked in Jody Reynolds Music Store in Palm Springs.. I got it for about Cost.. The Price gouge isn’t Reverb, it’s the Owners of the Instruments who set the Price… Regardless of what people think, fair market value is determined by what someone is willing to pay… If nobody paid the high Prices, nothing would sell. When things don’t sell they’re incentivized, discounted or both… Then Prices go down… Or the Products are discontinued and or removed from the Market…
  19. I drive a Full Size Chevy Crew Cab Silverado Pickup… Which gets about 15 MPG…. $5.00 - $6.00 a Gallon.. That gets expensive.. What do you drive?
  20. The E string on that particular YouTube Guitar may be in need of a Pole Piece adjustment.. Simple fix more than likely… In this market 70% off it’s new price is probably realistic if it’s in mint condition with all the original Hard Case with all the Case Candy..
  21. I have an early ‘90’s Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus in Heritage Cherry Sunburst with 490R & 498T Humbuckers.. It is a Work of Art & the Pickups sound fantastic! Weighs in at 9 1/2 lbs.. Not light but it is very comfortable to play & I love the Neck… Good luck with your Search! You won’t regret it! Look forward to hearing about your NGD!
