  1. Seems Dean Guitars is in the News again.. https://guitar.com/news/industry-news/dean-guitars-ceo-evan-rubinson-sued-mother-allegedly-embezzling-420000/
  2. The News was saying something about someone from Dean was fired for embezzling $400,000.00. I didn’t catch the whole story. Anyone know more?
  3. My Sisters Son was walking at night across a Street in the Victorville, Ca area a couple nights ago & was hit by a Car. He died on the way to the Hospital. The people stopped, called 911 & Police. It is being called an Accident. We don’t know everything yet. Our family is in Shock & in grief. My Heart is broken for my dear Sister. She is the kindest person.
  4. I caught the tail end on the news that a head guy at Dean Guitars just got fired for embezzling $400,000.00. Anybody hear this? Might there be some illegal activity going on at Fender Corona too?
  5. My Sisters Son was hit by a Car & killed last night… I’m sorry for your loss.. May God comfort you..
  6. On a couple You tubes they mention recent QC being a major complaint.. The Afternoon Shift was let go.. From the Bottom Guy to the Top Guy? Not sure what that’s all about? But Corona was pumping out 600+ Guitars a day! Now it’s cut back to about 400-450.. Maybe that will improve QC & not let Inventories run too high.. Thereby justifying Prices increases…
  7. Yes, I own Fenders as well as Gibsons.. I bought an Aged White ‘69 Thinline Tele, an Olympic White Fender American Vintage ‘65 Jazzmaster & a Candy Apple Red Fender American Vintage ‘65 Jaguar in the past couple years.. They’re great Guitars! That news is strange? On July 26th this year Fender announced another new FSR of Ltd Edition Reissue George Harrison Rocky Strat for $1999.99.. They sold out in a day!! One day!!! I’ve never heard of any Guitar Co. doing that. And now they’re laying off hundreds of People? There must be more to this….
  8. As with most recording Artist’s they record many Takes.. It has become popular to use various Takes.. They’re even using home Tapes of them while they were forming their songs & play them on Sirius…
  9. I have about 10 different sets of Headphones I’ce acquired over the years.. I can’t remember all the makes, most are in storage because I didn’t like them that much. Among them Beyer Dynamic & other fairly expensive ones.. I like Headphones & use them a lot. For Recording & Mixing I’m using older Sony VR-600’s.. Unavailable new. Great as part of my Mixing process. Used VOS are too expensive now.. I hear good things about some of the Sennheisers..
  10. Congrats! NGD’s are the best! Got any Pics?
  11. That is not normal! Not sure how Warranty from Gibson works in Oz? But, I would contact them by email or phone if possible and file a Warranty Claim. You will need your Original Purchase Receipt showing being so.d as New…
  12. Congrats on a really Pair of 339’s! A Bigsby would be great on one of them! Enjoy those beauties! I have a 2013 Gibson ES335 with 57’s & a recent Gibson Memphis Blacktop ES Les Paul with MHS Pups & Bigsby. I think it’s a 2015.. Both Pickups sound really great & the Guitars are Art! I also have a late 90’s Gibson Les Paul Std Plus with 490R & 498T Pups. Heritage Cherry.. Beautiful Guitar & love those Pups! Weighs a Ton!

I’m really jealous! LOL! No, Congrats! That is Cool! What pickup is that?
  14. Do you apply graphite or nut sauce to the Nut slots?
  15. If you watch Jimi Hendrix play he’s using his thumb almost half way across the fretboard down to the 3rd String. Almost like a second hand playing low parts while his other fingers play high parts.. At the same time. It’s a pretty amazing technique. He looks natural like it’s nothing.. The important thing is, the neck needs to fit your hand.. you can’t rebuild your hand.. If it’s not a comfortable natural feel to begin with I don’t believe forcing your hand to adjust to an unnatural uncomfortable neck will accomplish any magic…
  16. What is the average humidity year around in the room where you display them? Windows open in the Summer? Closed in the Winter & Heater on? Changes in Temp Humidity can definitely affect Guitars that are displayed out of their Cases for long periods of time…
  17. I love my Gibson Firebird V also.. But, it is nothing like my LP’s or ES335… Maybe somewhere between them & my Casino’s with P90’s.. Sound wise.. But, not really…. It’s has a unique Voice.. As well as being a unique Guitar!
  18. I use to use it on my 59 Vintage ES345 all the time.. I liked it..
  19. I used to have a real 1959 Gibson ES-345 & should never have payed with it.. Best sounding Pickups I’ve ever heard & the Guitar was stunning with all the Bling & it was Stereo! My 2013 Memphis ES-335 has 57’s.. It is a great Guitar for sure.. But, I saw a Black ES-355 With Gold hardware & Bigsby at NAMM a few years ago that has been on my mind ever since. Amazing Guitar!
  20. As bad as some of you think Sweetwater is, based on my experience, of buying aprox 40 Guitars in the past 20 years from all the major Online Stores, Brick & Mortar GC’s & Sam Ash & other Mom & Pop Stores they are far worse… Except maybe Wildwood… Literally no major Chain Stores Set up Guitars anymore.. Most Stores do nothing.. Put them out on display & if they sell or don’t sell nobody cares… Have you guys been to a recent NAMM? As I mentioned earlier, most Manufacturers displays of new Guitars are pretty awful to play! Sharp Frets, high Action, Intonation way off etc.. Although, I remember looking at new Guitars in the 60’s too… LOL! Unbelievable how many were unplayable in Stores back then too…
  21. I don’t know but if you’re selling 1000 Guitars a day you must be doing something right… I’ve bought & sold a lot of Guitars in the past 30 years.. I’ve bought from all the big Internet Stores & many Brick & Mortar Stores all over.. Today I don’t know any big Store that does anything close to what Sweetwater does at no cost for new Inventory Guitars.. Except Wildwood. Even at NAMM many of the new Guitars on display that are Promos need Set ups & other work.. Mostly Frets.. Most low end Guitars are so bad almost every one I’ve tried in the past few years needs to be rebuilt..
  22. I agree buying new online depends on who you’re buying from.. Never had a bad or in resolved Purchase with Sweetwater.. In any case you can’t buy a new J-29…. You’ll be searching for Used which is probably better anyway…
  23. Or it it could be…. GAS! LOL! The J29 is a nice Guitar if you like Short Scale.. Rosewood & Spruce create great Sound.. Although, I don’t believe they are available new.. A Used one could be a good Buy though….
