  1. They really need to maintain that responsibility, legacy or whatever you call it… Mandolins & Banjo’s make incredible Music!
  2. The thing with Gibson is besides the huge Sales volume of Electric Guitars, which are far more labor intensive in their crafting unlike Fender with simple Slab Bodies & bolt on Necks, they have an enormous Acoustic Guitar business! Gibson is a major competitor with Fender in the Electric Guitars Biz but is also a major competitor with Martin in the Acoustic Guitar Biz! Neither Fender or Martin can say that.. And, I love Acoustic & Electric Guitars!
  3. Yeah, “The Yardbirds”, one of my all time favorite Bands, was a revolving door of ever changing members.. Most notable were Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck & Jimmy Page.. Their main Career spanned from 1963-1968.. Drummer Jim Mc Carty still tours with his version of “The Yardbirds” but without the Original Vocalist/Harp player or Lead Guitarists… Without Mc Carty on Drums it would be considered a Trib Band…
  4. I hear you but that Generation bought Fender Offsets & still are… Over at OffsetGuitarForum there’s not a whole lotta love for Gibson’s.. I don’t get it? I dig & own a Fender Jag & Jazzmaster.. But,then I also own Gibson’s, Epi’s, Ric’s & Gretsch Electrics.. Gibson, Martin & Epi Acoustics too.. I’m a Guitar Addict!
  5. Unfortunately, we’re not even a blip on their radar! Although, there’s a lot of their music I like.. Especially some of JP’s Acoustic Guitar playing… He & Jeff Beck played together in “The Yardbirds” & I thought they sounded fantastic together!
  6. Kurt Cobain had a lot to do with it.. If he’d have played a modded Pawn Shop SG things would be different….
  7. I read somewhere some time ago that JP did Session work with “Them” on “Baby Please Don’t Go” & “Mystic Eyes”… 2 great Records from the 60’s! Doesn’t appear on that Link of his Session work? Anybody know?
  8. Thank you & Thank you to all who have Served & Serve this Great Country! God Bless America.
  9. All the Pic’s of me in ‘Nam were lost in a fire.. Army.. Dec. 67 - Dec. 68…
  10. Check this out… https://www.jimmypage.com/discography/sessions
  11. I agree.. There’s some kind of voodoo mystic perception about BRW that people are willing to step up for.. Many Musician friends of mine tell me they think my 1975 D-35 with EIR is the best sounding Martin they’ve ever heard.. I tend to agree.. whether it is or not… I know it sounded better than my recent new 2022 Martin HD-28E L.R Baggs Anthem which I returned .. I loved the Guitar but couldn’t get along with the protruding V on the back of the headstock.. Very uncomfortable.. I’d love to replace it with a 2022 D-28E Std.. But, they don’t make them? Custom order only? Weird?
  12. When Martin went from Brazilian Rosewood to Indian Rosewood the hub-bub was Brazilian sounded, looked & would out last Indian etc.. Whether or not it’s true I don’t know.. What I do know is the Brazilian Rosewood demands higher Prices.. Will that be the same with Sitka? Who knows? Both Lutz & Sitka will be used for Custom Shop Martins as well. What that means is any bodies guess.. I would venture Sitka Topped 2022’s will sell out quick!
  13. It could’ve been, Saturday in the Park……….. LOL!
  14. Does anybody really know what time it is?
  15. How about a J45-12 String? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RS4512M2M--gibson-acoustic-j-45-12-string-acoustic-electric-guitar-vintage-sunburst-limited-edition
  16. Thought that was Prince after his blistering Solo on “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” on the Tribute To George Concert…
  17. Beck is a Grand Master Guitarist’s Guitarist! He & Johnny Depp an excellent version of John Lennon’s, “Isolation”….
  18. There no 2 Guitars sound exactly alike even if they’re the same Specs.. It seems like that test would be very difficult for a Lab to assess… Maybe…
  19. I have Guitars with & without Trapeze Tailpiece.. Also, Guitars with different Bridge setups & some with Bigsby’s & other dkinds of Tremelo’s.. It’s hard to say that the Trapeze causes a different Sound because there are so many other factors to consider.. For example I have 2 Casino’s with Trapeze.. Each sounds different but I think it’s because of the Pickups more than anything.. Both are Gibson USA P90’s also..
  20. The few Mom & Pops around here usually don’t have what I’m looking for.. I’ve bought from most of the online Stores over the past 20 years or longer.. Sweetwater always gives me the best Price & Customer Service.. I like see the Guitars I’m buying, the Serial numbers, the weight & be able to choose the one I want... Being a Big Store they usually get Preferred Shipments of Guitars.. I like buying brand new Guitars that haven’t been wall hangers that 100 guys have played.. no scratches, dings, dents & missing parts… If for some reason I don’t like it I can return or exchange it.. Which I’ve done a few times.. Never a hassle.. Always ended up with what I want... I’ve had the same Sales Engr for 15 years or so.. He’s too busy to call me.. I text or call him when I want something.. It gets handled immediately & usually free 2 day shipping..
  21. I own a few very nice Acoustic Guitars.. One of them is a 2001 Gibson Bozeman Masterbilt J-160E.. It is one of my main go to Acoustic Electric Guitars.. I’d like to see Gibson reissue the CF-100E.. Like this one..
  22. My ‘59 ES345 had one Stereo Input. The Cord was Stereo on one end for Guitar & split to 2 Mono for the Amps.. I forgot to add the Link! Use Headphones for best effect…
  23. This looks identical to my old ‘59…. This is the Stereo Sound I remember thru 2 Amps….. Best with Headphones..
  24. Forgive my poor Math! LOL! You are absolutely correct.. I don’t recall if position 1 was a bypass? I do remember having to have a Stereo Cable Custom made.. It was too much hassle to haul 2 Amps around so it was mainly used on a few Recordings.. Almost always played it in Mono..
  25. It’s been 20 years but I seem to remember having 5-6 additional voices + the 3 way Switch.. A total of 8-9 different voices.. I've been a long time fan of BB King.. I’ve played & have owned several ES Guitars. You could say I’ve been chasing that Sound. I’ve played some Lucille’s & like all the other recent era ES Guitars I’ve played & owned it sounded really good.. But, none of the mid 60’s & later PAF type HB’s sounded like the real ‘59’s…
