  1. "Polluting" my eyes?  [biggrin]  Anyway, no worries.  And nothing to forgive.  There've been times I double posted but usually by mistake.  And my comment was basically a "rib",  meaning to be facetious.   Anyway....

I'm pretty sure there's no difference in price from one guitar finish(white) to another(any burst)  but that a white guitar would somehow look more "classy" to some TV producers.  I don't know.  But the white guitars I've seen on old B&W television shows didn't look "classy" as much as they did cheap and sometimes made of plastic.   But, as the guitar wasn't the "star" of those shows, it probably didn't really matter.

  2. Well NOTES.....

I wouldn't consider the entire nation to be barbarous,  but true, a disheartening good portion.  I still run across pleasant folk in my travels about,   but also peripherally notice behavior in some that transcends the perceived "normal" levels of rudeness.  Why, just a week ago, two neighbors of mine almost came to blows over one person's grass clippings getting on the other's driveway.  Seemed the one guy didn't want to wait for the other to get done mowing his lawn before cleaning them up!    Now, the guy next door to me will usually get clippings on my drive when he cuts his grass.  But I've told him before not to worry about it.  That the wind and rain will take care of it.  [wink]

Now, why couldn't the one neighbor have taken that stance?  After all, I didn't notice those grass clippings doing any premeditated and serious damage to his driveway.

    Oh, I dunno.....

I never considered myself as very good lookin',  but  my wife was a "stunner."    [wink]   And the ex wasn't too bad either.  But developed a fast lifestyle and a slow conscience.

  4. Y'know.....

Back in the early '70's,  I read an interview with Mick Jagger in which he stated the Stones might only be around and touring for another year or two( at that point).  saying in effect, "I can't see myself at forty and wiggling my bum singing 'Satisfaction'.  "    [wink]

But now, people are paying big bucks to see him do so at 78!

  5. Nice of you to post that twice, BANDY, but I get that.  Back in "the day" live TV broadcasts( and those to be kinescoped) insisted people to avoid wearing white shirts or blouses and instead opt for yellow or pale blue which would still look white on a black and white television broadcast.  I watch a lot of "retro" TV, and notice that most times when someone would be playing a guitar, the instrument was white.  But, now I know better.  But now it makes me wonder....

Why not just use a natural or tobacco burst?  I don't imagine that would cause any problems.  [confused]

  6. Regardless, I still know too many that have addictions they can't afford to support, either financially, health wise or both.   Which means; If your addiction is one that won't eventually kill you,  there's not much to worry about.  Unless you might lose your house or wife.  [wink]

The Naked version stripped away the cheese ball string arrangement Spector added to The Long And Winding Road  and make it a little bit better, (along with Hey Jude, both are two of my least favorite Beatles songs) but still make it super Saccharine.

Sarge, that's one page we both seem to be on. [wink]  I'll have to add the title song though.  However like that one better too in the stripped down version.

And all the film footage being put together and released will at least get me to get off my duff and get my DVD player fixed(or replaced)  Using a sub now that my daughter got from a friend that needed to be plugged into my TV monitor's HDMI plug, negating the possibility of having the sound go through my stereo.   And for that disc(and my WOODSTOCK and BAND OF GYPSYS dvds) I want the best sound possible for it.  [wink]

  8. Tell ya the truth, I'd rather have an actual '55 model ES-350!  [wink]  Which I'm guessing might cost far less than the 10 Gs  Gibson is asking for a NEW 350 "signature" guitar presumably "signed" by someone who's been DEAD four years now.    Sorry Gibson, but-----

I usually come into town on a bus or in my own car.  NEVER a turnip truck.  [wink]

Anyway....  One site I checked it out on informed me it was no longer available.

I sold three electric guitars and one electric bass guitar today.

The Latest Purge, in other words.
Getting things down to a manageable number of instruments.

Just in time for my new Jazzmaster to arrive tomorrow afternoon, I reckon.

NGD post to follow tomorrow evening, I am sure.
    😬

Lessee..... you sold four instruments, but expecting one replacement.  Sorta like four steps forward, but one step back towards that "manageable number"  you're mentioning, right?

I agree I saw them in1978 on the Some Girls tour and they were awful,  I have had many chances to see them since but declined.  Unfortunately the Stones and Dylan both take my top prize for the worst show I have been to and that is right around 300. thing is I like their music.

Yeah, but you know,  their's and Dylan's status as "icons"  means folks will flock to their shows in order to see THEM, and give them a pass on the music.   You know, like girls flocked to movie theaters to see an Elvis Presley movie, NOT because they thought it'd be great cinema.  But because Elvis was in it!   Just like we guys went to see them NOT because we thought Elvis movie soundtracks were great music(  Oy!)  but because of the hot CHICKS that they were full of.  [wink]

Well welcome to the forum Mr Guru, the people who you have called wrong have earned their credibility, so if you wish to point the wrong finger at anyone in here, you need to provide credible proof and start earning your reputation.

Ya do gotta wonder about someone who calls all those other people "wrong" and doesn't elaborate on how. [confused]

I did a web search for bypassing the requirements and seems like there’s hope for those that need W11 on a PC that fails the test. But in all honesty this kind of stuff is why I don’t do MS anymore. Apple also is bad too for the stuff that “just works”. All my opinion of course. If I had to pick my poison - i.e. didn’t have Linux - I’d pick MS though. That damn Apple store scares the bejeezus out of me! But hey, to each and to their own. Who am I to say what works for someone else

You obviously feel you're not qualified to.  But as you might have noticed, that never seems to stop a lot of other people.  [wink]  And not just here or in other forums,  but in ALL walks of life. [cool]

I forgot you had a Ph.d in English and know all them fancy $2 words, me just a dumb B.S. Liberal Arts degree.

Isn't it supposed to be bated breath?

Here is what I found on the net which is as we know always right:

"Bated" is a form of the word "abate," which means “to diminish, beat down, or reduce,” and it's spelled B-A-T-E-D. ... “Baited breath” spelled that way—like fish bait—is wrong.

Maybe he knew it, maybe not.  But Forty swiped an old gag from THE BOWERY BOYS.   If you might(or not) recall, actor LEO GORCEY, who was the character "Slip" Mahoney usually butchered the language,  usually with humorous malapropisms.    In one instance, after arranging to meet a girl for a date at some location  and at a certain time, he told her, "I'll be waiting with bait breath!"   [biggrin]

In another, he once said a certain individual was at "The pineapple of his career"( instead of "pinnacle"  [wink])

And if you like that sort of thing, check out some of popular '50's and early '60's comedian NORM CROSBY.

  14. And I too, have often heard the same disgust from many MAC users.

But some drive Chevy's, and some drive Fords.  But if it gets you where you're going, what else matters?  [wink]
