Did anyone else get a call and email from someone at Guitar Center telling me they're my new Gear Advisor?

[confused]  Why would anyone from Guitar Center call or e-mail ME to tell YOU they're YOUR new "Gear Advisor"?

I've browsed a couple of their places before, but never bought anything there, so the don't have my name or contact info.  I doubt I'll ever hear from them then.

    "problem"  ?   why?

I think what the OP sees as a "problem" is that he got the impression that Gibson was claiming it was their "innovation".

    But you know....

Many pre-war archtop acoustics had only "f" holes for acoustic projection that seemed sufficient enough for them to be played surrounded by all those "swing" era and big band horns.  So those off center sound ports must not be a detriment.  Personally, I've never played an ax with those, or heard one "close and personal", so I'll withhold  any judgement.  [wink]

  3. "peeper"?  [confused]     Anyway.....

I'm not really too familiar with Mayer's work.  I remember him doing an instrumental version of Michael Jackson's "Human Nature"( one of the few Jackson tunes I actually liked)at some televised tribute to Michael after Jackson died and was impressed with his playing.

  4. Pretty good result from that phone Saturn.  Moon shots with a 35mm are tricky.  Often for some reason,  a full moon that fills your viewfinder still results in a pic of the moon that looks smaller than a shirt button.

As I don't own a digital camera, and refuse to take photos with a phone( since I still use an old small flip phone)  so I don't know if any of them have a "polarizing" option.  That would make the cloud formations "pop" in any of those shots.   [cool]

ESP (espguitars.com) and their subsidiary, Ltd guitars, have quite a few 6 and 7 string models models that have come stock with the EverTune system for years.  From the reviews that I have seen, those that have them seem to like them.

May be....  But many people have trouble admitting to making any mistakes.  [wink]

We have most of the usual suspects (McDonalds, Burger Thing, Carl’s Jr., Steak n’ Shake, etc.).  The big “local” favorite of many is Whataburger.  It was founded in Corpus Christi in 1950.  There are restaurants throughout Texas and a few in the Florida Panhandle and also Phoenix and Tucson.  Dairy Queen is also a staple in many areas.  Seems like any town with a paved Main Street has an obligatory DQ.

HA!  Burger "Thing"!   I like that.  [laugh]  Some of us called BK's signature product "The SLOPPER"!  [lol]

Damned things ARE a sloppy mess, eh?

Back in the '60's too, there was a chain here in MI( and probably other states too) called "Burger Chef".  They weren't that bad.  And for a short time there was one place( I knew of no other locations) called "Borden Burger".  Yep.  A subsidiary of the Borden dairy company.  They were pretty good too.  But they weren't around all that long.  When they closed down and moved out, a friend of mine joked that, "They probably ran out of all the beef they could get out of Elsie and Elmer!"  \:D/

  7. Along with several locations of WC and other major burger chains( McDonald's, Burger King etc.) there were also many regional local burger joint locations.  'Round here we had;

DALY BURGER( one or two still operating, some were just dine-in and some had both dine-in and drive-in service)

CARTER'S( Can think of five withing walking and driving distance from where I lived, but only where two are still operating.  The Lincoln Park location is still there, but now one of those ham places.  Was THE big hang-out when I was in high school)

MOTT'S( way similar to Carter's burgers, the main feature being grilled onions on 'em.  One still operates in Southwest Detroit).

  8. Interesting.  I noticed on that same page of images were several AIRLINE( Montgomery Ward distributed) and "budget" axes like KAY and such.  Apparently, National had a lot of imitators over the years.  I've long thought they built resonators exclusively.

  9. As I mentioned before, the primary WC competition 'round here(White Tower, Top Hat)  have long gone while WC keeps chuggin' along.   I've never heard of Krystal Burgers in these parts.  Might be having one open up in the Austin area might cause WC to move into that area too.  And it'd be interesting to see which of the two survive.

  10. I haven't had an electric ax for many moons.  But when I did the Super Slinky's I used were flexible enough to bend notes without getting out of tune.  And I've done some serious bending.

This device seems to me as unnecessary as the "surround sound" center speaker.
