Folks, I'd really hate to have to close a Beatles thread, so let's leave politics out of the discussion, please.
Absolutely right. Let's talk about "Taxman".
Sorry, I had to.
Carry on.

Slash didn't do a GNR tribute band like Axe Hole did, he got with other guys and it was Velvet Revolver.
Yeah, the Axl GNR was GNR in name only.

I'll bet some of these older rockers are doing it for the money, they probably wish they had some of the money they blew years ago. I don't like tribute bands either, I've never been to a tribute concert. I really don't care for the TV show The Voice...televised karaoke?
I don't label them as a tribute band if there is at least one original member.
I did see Todd Rundgren last year. He still puts on a good show for a 75 year old guy.
And also, if they are as into playing as they are, and who isn't, how could they stop?
But yes, sometimes maybe a new band name is a good idea. But I'm fairly sure none of them would listen to me, nor should they.

Whatever floats their collective boat I guess. But ticket prices these days are pretty outrageous.
But yeah... I wouldn't go see most of the in-effect cover bands. But hey, that's me.

I'd already tried to find some redeeming qualities in Metallica's next to last album that week, so I figured I'd wasted enough time. So bad. So bad.

Ever try listening to Live Peace In Toronto side 2 ? When John says "And Now Yoko Is Gonna Do Her Thing All Over You" he was not kidding. One album side of Yoko screeching like a cat is having small pieces cut off its body by a rusty Bowie knife. One listen was 5 times too many.
I don't recall. I don't think so. I listened to a few random songs and decided that was probably enough.

I've heard her music. Didn't much care for it.
I go to early Napalm Death for screaming.
Edit: How's that for a useless post.

I clicked or opened something I shouldn't have a couple of weeks ago. All of a sudden, I started getting a dozen spam emails and 3 or 4 spam phone calls a day.
I sure wish the FCC or FBI or someone would track down the culprits and take their computers away. It would seem it could be a nice way to train their Probies.
Ugh, all these e-mails... I used to at least open strange/unexpected e-mails, if not click on any links. These days, straight into the trash they go.

Not much humidity over here in the wintertime. Winter is not my season.

Work computers are great that way.
Always keep as much dubious browser history and as many cookies as possible for when you quit. It's a lot more satisfying that way.

I've always been curious how well hardshell cases protect guitars against low (and high, for you lucky enough not to live in s-hole Sweden) humidity.
-
No offense, but that looks like a textbook "don't click" link.

What kind of cracks? Replacing a bridge and doing a setup shouldn't be very expensive.

I'm still wondering what just about everything on the Gibson multitool is for.
And the old truss rod wrenches work better.

Yikes! How'd I miss this thread?

Sister Rosetta was awfully high up on the list. In all fairness, I haven't heard her play (I do know of her), but apparently she's better than most guitarists ever.
Well, what do I know. Maybe she is/was.

Led Zep boring? Have you heard Archilles Last Stand?
Okay, so I've only heard the two first albums or something. I'll repent and listen to some more of their stuff someday. Sorry for not lockstepping with what you "have" to like.
Deal?

Same, unless it was genre-specific.

JIMI HENDRIX
Ha ha, so true. Every single time.

Hm, no Mustaine on the list? That won't sit well with him.
Also, odd to include Kerry King but not Jeff Hanneman. If anything, the latter should have been on the list.

I know you're supposed to revere Zeppelin... I just find them, well... boring.

I had one of those soft (not very) cases once. They're excellent.
