My doctor (who has NO sense of humor) asked me what a Long Drink was....I told him..... Gin, Juniper and grapefruit drink.... about 8% alcohol (if you get the black can).....and of course, a Gin & Tonic.....then he said, "You like your gin, eh?"

    The Lonkero?

I religiously get a physical every year..... I get my results this afternoon....but so far all the tests are good.

    Then you should be fine,

Doctors are people too, and I bet a lot of them drink a lot more than they advice their patients to.

My doctor is not pleased with my alcohol intake..... I usually have a Long Drink, (from Finland), during dinner and a Gin & Tonic after dinner....he said that's too much.

I NEVER get drunk, and don't feel like I have an alcohol problem....but who knows?

At first I thought, that doesn't sound excessive, but that's about a fifth a week, But everyone's different. How are the liver enzyme tests?

I've always quite liked the options available on the latest Classic but I've never had the opportunity to play one. Last Friday I was in a guitar shop and picked up a couple of Classic's , I was absolutely shocked at the weight of them considering they are supposed to be weight relived.  I have two solid Les Paul's and both are lighter than those and they dwarfed the weight of my Les Paul Classic Antique at 7lb 5oz

I've seen them listed as pretty heavy too! Like 9lbs.

  5. Alcohol is weird... No one would consider it problem drinking if someone got blitzed once a month, but as far as brain chemistry goes, that blitz will still have effects on your I think dopamine production a month later, and so it goes on. I guess some feel it more than others.

Yep - exactly. I’m damn sure Martin does to.

They should promote me to CEO, cause I would make all the guitars you guys talk about here. You want J-45’s. I’d have Bozeman make J-45’s more J-45er than all the previous J-45’s. Maybe a HB, Dove and SJ-200 too. But mostly just J-45’s. And no neon green ones.

I was gonna say the same thing about Gibson 😄

Rabs will get his Slash with a 60s neck. QC will improve. The 84 Explorer will be available in white (I suspect they're working on a white Hetfield signature model), at a reasonable price. Complimentary breadsticks for everyone.

For your guys sake I hope so. They still need to get better QA. Cause the guys that buy them come here weekly to vent about it. I’m sure I can go look an there are probably 5 or 6 threads up right now if bad QA. Martin too on theirs. Gibson is not alone. Martin is probably no different, but has there ever been a news story or scandal out of that  camp? None I can recall. Plus some one with the last name of Martin has been in charge there since day one. Now does that mean anything, probably not.

    Yeah, QC needs to improve.

I believe the original nut is some sort of plastic - nothing special. Since you're going in there I'd suggest bone. Can't go wrong. I chose unbleached bone so it sort of matches the tuners. Regardless of the material you choose, the nut has to be right or everything else suffers.

Do you find it (bone nut) sounds different to the original Graphtech nut?

Was it Willie Nelson who spoke of smoking marijuana on the roof of the White House when he visited there during the Jimmy Carter years?

Or am I just hallucinating that memory?

    🤨

Willie Nelson has never not smoked marijuana, so even if he didn't speak of it, he did.

Thanks for the input Pinch. I called this topic fret/bridge buzz but I don't think it's actually in the frets. I think it's in the bridge and or the body. Like you said this body has a different sound than a solid body and maybe there is no cure but I hope there is, it aggravates me. I was hoping someone would pick up on the topic with the same problem that had found the fix. It would save me the trouble of searching, tweaking  and adjusting some more.

Merciful, it's not an ES, SG etc it is a studio.

Could also be a loose screw. The truss rod cover is a known culprit. Just remember when you check them: snug, not tight. Don't actually tighten them, just make sure there's no loose ones.

Pinch, Can I assume by your comment you have noticed a similar problem with one of your guitars?

Yup. Trogly taught me it's not unusual. It's there intermittently. I just play it, I've given up on QC. I decided the tone of that particular guitar makes up for it. That's my rationale anyway.
