  1. Nice to see you! Got any cool builds or art pieces you want to share?
  2. Missed that! Lookin fantastic btw
  3. I’m not Rabs but he didn’t use any stain. That is Birchwood Casey tru oil which Rabs uses as the finish, ie no additional clear coat Any clear coat will darken the color like Rabs has shown
  4. You can buy a radiused sanding block or buy a pre radiused/slotted or even pre fretted board from stewmac or eBay
  5. My roomate and I have been brewing beers. Here’s a wheat ale that we just opened up This is our second batch. We’re going to try to make the next batch more clear/less hazy but controlling the temp better and chilling the wort faster
  6. Really like the idea of the Tele neck pickup. Interested to hear it on 24 3/4” scale (?) with naturally what must be a slightly different distance from the bridge How do you plan where to put the pickup? Have you ever noticed that Telecasters have the neck pickup right under what would be the 24th fret so you can’t hear certain harmonics through that pickup?
  7. Soul Lament by Kenny Burrell Once I finish learning that I want to do Midnight Blue
  8. What I would make isn’t important since this is all you :) Since you asked, I’ve been wanting to make a Flying V. Personally I would gravitate towards a solid color for that, but the quilt on that wood has kindof a chevron pattern which would really look cool on a V shaped body
  9. Nice Rabs. Can’t wait to see what you do with that wood!
  10. Sounds good, you had me at “lots of garlic”
  11. Sucks that you aren’t where you want to be but it’s cool that you won’t have to worry about rent.

You got anyone to jam with over there?

    -Travis

  12. Man that looks sweet!! Did you make the pickguard?
  13. That looks fantastic Jorge, you da man!!!!
  14. Have you thought about doing the edge detail on the wings before gluing them to the neck? You’d have to finish the edge detail at the bottom of the neck after but I think that might be easier I can tell from looking at my Ric that they had to have done the binding on the wings before gluing them to the neck, and it doesn’t continue at the bottom of the body/neck where the tailpiece mostly covers
  15. It would be a ***** to try and round over the top with the neck on there. You could kinda feather it away from the fretboard and that might look kinda cool
  16. Nice work Rabs. I don't remember seeing that oak arrow with the darker wood plates on top in it's complete state. That looks sweet
  17. Yet another Rangemaster. I wanted one for my studio and whipped this up Monday night but haven’t posted yet as I’ve been distracted by the new Martin. Since this is for my studio I didn’t bother putting any effort into aesthetics, but it sounds great with that NKT transistor If any of you guys are interested I can post the stripboard layout that I made for this build
  18. I can imagine what that looked like on windows 95 or something “Just wait a few minutes while the tuner loads! **** the program crashed we need to re record everything, where’s my floppy disc?”
  19. Nitro is actually relatively easy to repair because the finish contains a solvent which will melt the coats together. I wouldn’t want to do it because of the liability with such an expensive guitar. Scary! Hopefully the customer can accept that as a part of playing a guitar, it happens sometimes. Just gotta roll with it Of course Dan makes it look really easy. I have the stuff to do it myself but would be afraid to touch such an expensive guitar
  20. Damn dude you did the final steps of that quick. Congrats on getting another one sold. Seems like the customers are coming faster huh?
  21. Are you going to route out a solid back to make the one for your friend hollow?
  22. Lookin cool Rabs and I like your concept for the Walnut guitar on the last page (the one that’s like an LP special esque body with SG-like bevelling)
  23. Been learning/playing Long Distance Runaround this weekend. Wanna do Mood for a Day next
