  1. Soul Lament by Kenny Burrell Once I finish learning that I want to do Midnight Blue
  2. What I would make isn’t important since this is all you :) Since you asked, I’ve been wanting to make a Flying V. Personally I would gravitate towards a solid color for that, but the quilt on that wood has kindof a chevron pattern which would really look cool on a V shaped body
  3. Nice Rabs. Can’t wait to see what you do with that wood!
  4. Sounds good, you had me at “lots of garlic”
  5. Sucks that you aren’t where you want to be but it’s cool that you won’t have to worry about rent.

You got anyone to jam with over there?

    -Travis

  6. Man that looks sweet!! Did you make the pickguard?
  7. That looks fantastic Jorge, you da man!!!!
  8. Have you thought about doing the edge detail on the wings before gluing them to the neck? You’d have to finish the edge detail at the bottom of the neck after but I think that might be easier I can tell from looking at my Ric that they had to have done the binding on the wings before gluing them to the neck, and it doesn’t continue at the bottom of the body/neck where the tailpiece mostly covers
  9. It would be a ***** to try and round over the top with the neck on there. You could kinda feather it away from the fretboard and that might look kinda cool
  10. Nice work Rabs. I don't remember seeing that oak arrow with the darker wood plates on top in it's complete state. That looks sweet
  11. Yet another Rangemaster. I wanted one for my studio and whipped this up Monday night but haven’t posted yet as I’ve been distracted by the new Martin. Since this is for my studio I didn’t bother putting any effort into aesthetics, but it sounds great with that NKT transistor If any of you guys are interested I can post the stripboard layout that I made for this build
  12. I can imagine what that looked like on windows 95 or something “Just wait a few minutes while the tuner loads! **** the program crashed we need to re record everything, where’s my floppy disc?”
  13. Nitro is actually relatively easy to repair because the finish contains a solvent which will melt the coats together. I wouldn’t want to do it because of the liability with such an expensive guitar. Scary! Hopefully the customer can accept that as a part of playing a guitar, it happens sometimes. Just gotta roll with it Of course Dan makes it look really easy. I have the stuff to do it myself but would be afraid to touch such an expensive guitar
  14. Damn dude you did the final steps of that quick. Congrats on getting another one sold. Seems like the customers are coming faster huh?
  15. Are you going to route out a solid back to make the one for your friend hollow?
  16. Lookin cool Rabs and I like your concept for the Walnut guitar on the last page (the one that’s like an LP special esque body with SG-like bevelling)
  17. Been learning/playing Long Distance Runaround this weekend. Wanna do Mood for a Day next
  18. We used to have a forum section called the trading post but it was recently removed. I’ve sold a grip of pedals to people through the forum over the years but never through the trading post haha I’m not sure what to tell you on that one
  19. Rabs I love that pic of your little car with the huge pieces of wood!! My car is like a low rider in the back because of all the tools I had some extra material left over on a job site that I used to make some quick floating shelves to hold my pedals. It’s nothing fancy, I’m not even scribing the shelves to the walls of finishing the wood, but it’s a lot better than the pile on the floor. I couldn’t get them all to fit but I think one more shelf could fit the rest
  20. Naturally I’m listening to Polygondwanaland the latest album from King Gizzard. My favorite band this year by far
  21. Here’s a quick sketch of what I would probably do. Give it a small vent on top and make a seperate front panel with a big vent in it which can be (painted matte black and) covered with grill cloth. You could use the Vox diamond pattern grill cloth, white piping, black screws, and black plastic corner protectors to give it a Vox aesthetic. I think you can also buy a Vox handle I would totally build the cabinet for you but shipping would probably be expensive. If you need it, I could cut the pieces and dovetail them and everything and send it flat for you to glue together and tolex
  22. The amp itself looks so cool! The tube with the mesh inside is the EF86, here’s kindof a closeup of a Mullard EF86 I have Personally I would build a new cab. The construction of this cab does not really look nice enough to where paint or tolex will be able to help much. The 1/4” bottom looks warped, kinda loose, and unevenly joined with a butt joint (the least stable joint for this application). It seems like a foolish idea to use 1/4” for the bottom in the first place. It looks like the 1/4” bottom has flexed allowing the 2 piece chassis to get bent up slightly I think Vox used to make a lot of cabinets out of particle board, so I’m assuming the original was destroyed by water or something and the owner at the time did their best to save the amp Although of course I know you don’t want to dump more money into the project, I gotta advise getting a new cab. That cab does not appear to be worthy of the amp.
  23. Late reply here

Hey Ken! Thanks for the suggestion, we did go to Kingston Mines and had a great time. The band was great, and the guitarist was playing a crazy triple neck guitar and shredding it up

    Take care!
