Stu-bud
Just picked this one up. It's a 1990, near mint condition. I am surprised at how good this guitar sounds. Very sweet, and really fun to play. Are the 1990 models the first year of the Firebird reissue?
SteveFord
The Bicentennial model was a bit earlier and I believe there was another batch prior to yours as well. Nice guitar, I like the way the white has aged to an ivory color.

glnnjmnz
I've got a Firebird itch I think I'm going to have to scratch soon. I have an SG standard and I keep wondering if the firebird feels similar to my Fender Jaguar. Seems like it's a mix of the two.
Versatile
Firebirds are uber cool...well known fact... Incredibly they were not popular at first...being somewhat outrageous shape-wise... The only conundrum IMO is whether the 'white one' is fabulous a la Johnny Winter Or an 'indictable crime' for splashing paint over that unique laminated thru-neck... Stu-bud
Gorgeous! Can we have a pic of the headstock as well?.. Thanks for all the compliments! Here are some photos of the headstock, and the back. The neck is very cool, a wide-fat shape. Quite different from my '71 SG (a slim taper from headstock, to fat at the body); and my '80 LP (fat and round). It feels very tall, and not as thick as the LP. So, I know there are various posts on this topic, but are the 1990 mini-humbuckers Alnico magnets or ceramic? I am under the belief they are Alnico, just from my own research. And, they sound very good.

Stu bud your looks great. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine........... Thanks, and yes, I love mine. I bought a 1964 Firebird Type 1 in 1979, sold it in 1984 for $500.00. Well, I wish I'd kept it.
