jannusguy2 Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Is the bridge completely wrong on this or am I off base. Saddle, too. looks like a bridge from an old Harmony Jumbo I used to have. Something looks wrong for a guitar that is supposed to be all original. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=161272499083
jannusguy2 Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 Is that a painless bridge of some sort? Well, it is pin-less. Might not be painless if you bought thinking it was all original!
duluthdan Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Well, it is pin-less. Might not be painless if you bought thinking it was all original! Colorado recreation... Het might not be a bad buy at this 2 grand level.
jannusguy2 Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 Colorado recreation... Het might not be a bad buy at this 2 grand level. You're the man! Colorado recreation. I need to move west! Actually this guitar is not far from me. I have emailed the seller asking for an in hand evaluation but no reply...
62burst Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Saw it. Don't oversized bridges normally grow north to south, not east->west? Might not be too pain-less if the new owner decides to go back to original. Seller sounds innocent enough (maybe selling a loved one's guitar), but is somehow able to speak to the guitar's intonation. Great patina (<-or insert other euphemism here).
j45nick Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Interesting that the bridge was probably replaced long ago, from the looks of it. That multi-ring rosette suggest a pretty early one, I would guess. It's going to go for a lot more than 2K, no matter what. Can't tell if it has a truss rod or not. Pictures are pretty lousy. If it's nearby, it's worth driving a couple of hours to see, for sure.

And with Rob also....the bridge is 'horrible'....not original....and needs to go! ....NC recreation
62burst Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Well, Nick said "a lot more than 2", Rod :) . I swear this sort of prognosticating has all the makings of a great internet "Guess the final Price" game. I'll ante up & say "North of 4" : 0 !
jannusguy2 Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 I sent the seller a note about the bridge. Maybe they decided to reconsider the claims of originality. Who knows...
slimt Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Anyone buying that one should know the difference.. Looks lke a decent guitar..
jannusguy2 Posted April 11, 2014 Author Posted April 11, 2014 Seller emailed me saying they removed it to "do more research".
j45nick Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Seller emailed me saying they removed it to "do more research". I would follow up on that one. It looks like it has potential to me.
