Pesh Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 So much character in that top! JEALOUS!!! Congratulations.
jmcecil Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 What is interesting is that I have two primary amps. A Morgan 35R combo and a hand built (by me at one of his seminars) Egnater 60 watt pushing Celestion Alnico Blue 2x12. I also have a 59' Traditional LP reissue. The 59' sounds great through the Egnater, but kind of bleh through the ultra clean Morgan. However, the 58' sounds F'n amazing clean. It has just enough treble to not be muddy, but it has this great low/mid punch. So, it's actually a really good "clean-ish" guitar too. Obviously it roars on the Egnater.
Guest Farnsbarns Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 Now that is a gorgeous R8. I wish mine was that colour. Congrats.
jmcecil Posted July 23, 2016 Author Posted July 23, 2016 Very cool top. Any more pictures? Of course ... who doesn't want to show off their wood? Here's a couple I took outside. Here's the Tom Murphy Sig (at least that's what I'm told this is). Plus it shows the aged finish cracking better.
