blindboygrunt
Should the serial number be stamped 'into the back of the headstock or printed ? I.e. Should it be 'engraved' with the number sunk into the wood ? Cheers

blindboygrunt
There is a very faint indentation, but it's barely there . Can be seen at the 2 , but the rest of the number can hardly be felt with your finger Anyone help ? Should I worry ?
sbpark
Looks legit to me. Looks like a 2014. I've had Gibsons where you really could barely see the stamp, others were more prominent. They all vary and I see no reason why yours would raise any suspicion.
slimt
Looks fine from what Ive seen... I have seen a few where the numbers were so faint.. lighting at a angle would make those readable..
BigKahune
. Yep, looks legit to me too. If you want to see how faint the impression can get check this thread - http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/134117-no-serial-stamped-on-headstock-on-es335-memphis-2016/ . Mojorule
Agreed. And the J29 would be an odd one to go faking...
