Les Paul Stop tail adjustmenbt

All, just ran into this after my luthier setup my guitar cranking the tailpiece all the way down. The strings hit the back of the bridge. The result...the string would bind on the bridge making it impossible to tune the D and Low E strings. They just kept plinking. You know the sound. So that is not acceptable. I raised the tail piece. Tuning now works but I would say the feel of the guitar is less solid. The strings seem less connected and the acoustic sound of this semi holow guitar Eastman t185 is less pure when the tail piece is raised. I have a solution. File the back of bridge as required to get clearance when bridge is tight down.
