Tulip/Keystone replacement tuners...help

I would like to replace the factory tulip tuners on my 2000 J-185. The stock tuner buttons on this Gibson have started to crack on a few. They are the bushing-only type, not the threading mount from the face of the headstock. I bought a few sets to install but they either didn't fit or, when I put this set on, I just don't like how far the buttons stick out. Is there a replacemnt Gibson or Kluson set for acoustics anyone might suggest? I do know the Klusons I just tried were from a Les Paul, but I dunno if there's a set that has a little shorter button shaft, single ring. Or maybe not...I know a lot more about Grovers than I do these.

Thanks!

Here's a pic to illustrate my question

No I would rather replace the tuners themselves, not just the buttons, thanks.

And the linked ebay tuners will not work because those are not press-in bushing only, they are threaded and oversized for the existing holes on the headstock but thank you.

Yes, the longer shafts bug me, too.

For an interesting alternative, check out the Kluson Revolution tuners (a number of vendors on Ebay have them in stock). They're available in both threaded & plain bushing styles. They'll have a different look when installed, as the button attaches to a thicker housing (like Grovers), rather than a long & skinny shaft.

They are a direct replacement for traditional Kluson-style tuners, but have a 19:1 ratio.

Edit - Just checked & Sporthitech has the "no collar" version for $56. Part # is KEDPNC-3801N (pearl buttons, nickel body).

SO...thanks to some leads here that enabled further searching, I ordered some Klusons I think will fit the bill for J-185s...I'll wait and post if they do. Again, the Kluson-type tuners I understand original to my era J-185s, and I was told this, have cheap buttons that tend to crack.

But I also found these, which seem to also have the shorter button shaft, for those interested:

Thanks everyone, rock and roll over

Good luck. I think they will work out for you.

I posted a similar thread on this earlier this week.

I'm going to try the German made relic'ed Faber's and change the Tulips for white buttons to be period correct with my Country & Western. These look like a better option than the Tonepros as I won't require drilling https://faberusa.com/product/3503-faber-vintage-style-3x3-tuners-aged-nickel/

I'll let you know how I get on!

A little late to the party here, but FWIW Gibson sells their own version of these: https://store.gibson.com/products/deluxe-green-key-tuner-set/

Thanks Boyd (BTW, I think that link is broken) Don't think they actiually sell tuning pegs anymore direct on https://store.gibson.eu.com

For me these are similar to the tonepros and therefore require drilling which for obvious reasons I'm reluctant to do on a vintage guitar. Hence my search for a 'drop-in' replacement.

Yeah, I noticed they aren't listed in the store anymore and found them with a google search. But I was able to add them to my cart at Gibson.com. The price seems rather high, considering that you can get other replicas for a lot less. Guitar Center and other online dealers also sell these though. https://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson/Vintage-Nickel-Machine-Heads-with-Pearloid-Buttons-1273888006340.gc
