You know I just spent an hour on it playing Muse and Sabbath, the sound through my 100w Valvestate is insanely nice

Tony still rips $hit up with his SG (don't think it's a Gibson, though). Ozzy forgot the lyrics during Iron Man!!!
EddieDean
Thanks for all the advice, folks. I've pretty much got it narrowed down to two. As budget IS an issue, I've been looking at the Flying V that DeVinci13 posted( thanks), or maybe an Explorer Gothic II w/ EMG 81/85 combo. I wish I could A/B them, but alas...no new Gibsons within a few hundred miles.. Now that I think about it, I am off 5 days in a row next week. I think I'll drive to Dallas or Houston and do an A/B with them before I decide. Thanks again, you've all been a great help.
Silverbursted
I just picked up a MXR Super Distortion III and plugged in my LP Standard with stock BB Pros. One phrase sums up this combination...HOLY CRAP this sucker is loud!!!
